Within the headings on down this page, I'm attempting to share with you some of the things I've learned about the Medicine Wheel Way. But, I HIGHLY recommend that you get some books, authored by trained sacred teachers in the Medicines. To define these "medicines" that I'm referring to: Writer, Kenneth Meadows, describes them as "essences of knowledge." My Webster's Dictionary defines essence as "the very being or power of a thing." GOT THAT? You need to GET SOME BOOKS, OK? And I recommend some or all of the following: Just click on the pictures for ordering info.
"MEDICINE WHEEL EARTH ASTROLOGY," by Sun Bear and Wabun. This book is uncomplicated and to the point. I refer to it over and over again, often. And to begin learning the medicines of the animal kingdom, a great source is "MEDICINE CARDS - The Discovery of Power Through the Ways of Animals," by Jamie Sams and David Carson, beautifully illustrated by Angela C. Werneke. This book and card set gives an overview of 44 different animals, including those with feathers and fins. The book details many uses for the cards. If you prefer lotsa researched background info on the subject, then "EARTH MEDICINE," by Kenneth Meadows certainly provides it. And the "MEDICINE WAY," also by Kenneth Meadows, is an informative sequal to it. |
