Chapter Nineteen
Katelyn
"This sucks ass." I mumbbled to myself. Everyone was out of the house and I was home alone, which was a first for me. "I'm usually the one out having a good time and now I'm stuck here alone talking to myself because my so-called best friend stabbed me in the back."
Beginging to scare my, I shut up. I had been talking to myself since my brother and Taylor left. For some strange reason, I had talked to them all night long. I had spilt my guts about everything Destiny and I had been through. I cried through the whole conversation. I hardly ever cry.
Now I was curled up on the couch attempting to watch T. V. I had it on MTV, but nothing was intesting me much. I.C.P. came on, but I had no interest in listening to it.
I was hardly even paying attention to the television until a song came on that caught my ear. It was a soft song. I looked up at the corner of the screen. The song was called "One Last Cry" by Brian Littrell. Who was that? I didn't know. SO I listened.
My shattered dreams and broken
Heart are mending on the shelf
I saw you holding hands
Standining so close to someone else
Now I sit all alone
Wishing all my feeling was gone
Gotta get over you
Nothing for me to do
But have one last cry
One last cry
Before I leave it all behind
I've gotta put you out of my mind
This time
Stop living a lie
I guess I'm down to one last cry
I was here, you were there
Guess we mever could agree
While the sun shines on you
I need some love to rain on me
Still, I sit all alone
Wishing my feelings were gone
Gotta get over you
Nothing for me to do
But have one last cry
I know I gotta be strong
But around me
Life goes on and on and on and on
I'm gonna dry my eyes
Right after I have my one last cry.
The song was over, and I finally realized that tears were running down my face. But I quickly wiped them off when I heard the door open.
I turned around and my I felt my stomach rise up to my throat. Kyle was standing with Taylor and Destiny in the door way, staring at me.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I demanded in a horse voice, feeling my shock disintegrate into angry.
"Don't get an attitude with her, Katelyn. She's here to explain something to you." my brother said evenly.
"I don't want to hear anything she has to say." I sneered evily. "Leave."
I watched Destiny's face fall sadly as she turned around and stated to walk out the door. But Kyle grabbed her arm. "Hold up. Katelyn. Be fair here. She's you're best friend..."
I laughed sarcastically. "Was."
Taylor walked up beside me. "Kate, just hear her out. She explained it to us. Just give her a chance. Give her that much."
"Please, Kate. You really need to know this." she whispered.
I closed my eyes and felt Taylor squeez my shoulder and felt myself shutter. I sighed. "Okay. Start talking."
