List of Subjects

During my industrial engineering degree I have specialized in "photonics". The first 18 months were cone years
with all subjects the same for the three specializations: photonics, applied physics and control technology.

First year (propaedeutic or foundation course) with between brackets the grade(s)*):
Nuclear physics (10) Physical chemistry (9)
C-programming (10, 9) Digital technology (8)
Thermo dynamics (8, 9) Optics (8, 6)
Mathematics (four times 10) Electronics (6, 8)
Electromagnetic field theory (7, 8) Mechanics (8, 7)

Practical subjects:
Physics (measurements, data processing and report writing), C-programming, English, physical chemistry,
AutoCAD, reading technical drawings, digital technology

Second year:
Fluid dynamics (9) Opto-electronics (6)
Applied electronics (8) Materials science (7)
Vacuum technology (7) Control technology (9, 8)
Fourier analysis (7) Physics measurements (8)
Linear algebra (10) Solid state physics (10)
Philosophy (7) Business administration (8)
Optics (6) Laser technology (5)

Practical subjects:
Physics (measurements, data processing and report writing), control technology, English, materials science,
optics, laser technology, fluid dynamics, vacuum technology and project photonics: building a glass fiber
gyroscope (Sagnac gyroscope).

Third year:
Optics (7) Opto-electronics (3, 10)
Spectrometry (8) Marketing (9)
Fiber optics (8) Environment and safety (9)
Digital Signal Processing (6)

Practical subjects:
Opto-electronics, traineeship at Dutch Holographic Laboratory (see work experience in CV).

Fourth year:
Graduation project at CERN (8) (see work experience in CV).

Subjects which I found very interesting:
Nuclear physics, vacuum technology, fluid dynamics, spectrometry, thermo dynamics, fiber optics,
magnetic field theory, mechanics, environment and safety, practical physics, optics, mathematics,
and my final project which contained a lot of accelerator physics.

For all the named subjects I had grades*) in the range of 8 to 10.
