Chapter Fifteen

"I just have to go home and get my stuff." Madi told Taylor, as they were leaving the restaurant.
"Get your stuff?"
"Yeah. I can't go to a game and not support the team somehow."
"So do you get all crazy and paint your naked body in team colors?" Taylor asked hopefully. Madilynn laughed.
"No. I just have a jersey and a hat. No paint."
"Darn."
"If you like, we can go home after and use paint substitutes."
"Might be interesting." They entered her apartment building, then climbed the first flight of stairs.

Inside, Taylor sat on Madilynn's bed while she changed into a black long sleeve tee shirt under her jersey, then watched her pull her hair back into a pony tail for her hat.
"Hey. The hat's adjustable. You wanna wear it? A little camoflauge?"
"Sure." She tossed it to him, then fixed her hair. He joined her in the mirror, tucking his hair behind his ears, then putting the hat on.
"A lot of other celebs wear sunglasses too."
"I know, but sunglasses inside? And then outside in the dark? I'll pass, thanks. I think it draws more attention. Like you told Marcus earlier, not the target audience for me in there."
"True. Not a lot of single young women in there."
"Ah, no." When Madi was done with her hair, she fixed her make up.
"Ready for a smearing of the Jazz?" Madi asked.
"Any day." They walked across the street and down the block to the US Airways center.

Inside, they found their seats.
"These are so awesome!" Taylor exclaimed.
"They are, aren't they?" While the teams were warming up and the seats filling, Madi kept an eye out for any weird suspects. So far, it had been uneventful. She saw Taylor enjoying the teams warming up, and smiled, glad she could give this to him, share it with him.
When the teams cleared the floor for the final cleaning, the crowd started cheering. After a minute, they calmed down.
"So how does it feel to be watching instead of doing?"
"It's great. I miss it already, but it's great. I love basketball."
"Good." And then, out of nowhere, 'Great Divide' started playing. "Oh my gosh Tay!" He smiled as she started to sing along. Of course, they didn't even play the whole song, just little teasers. "That was awesome. I've never heard them do that before. Maybe they know you're here?"
"I doubt it. But it was cool." The teams entered, going to their respective benches. Marcus saw them and waved. "Now that was cool." Taylor told her, grinning.
