A very small car indeed.
We walked across the Hungerford Bridge to the London Eye, and took this picture from the bridge. The impressive building behind the Eye was once the County Hall, but now houses, among other things, the largets hotel in the world, the London Aquarium, and the offices of British Airway.
Sue overcame her fear of heights to stand by the window for this photo.
And of course, we change positions quickly.
And now, a view of the Hungerford Bridge frm the Eye.
Here's a view of the capsule below us. It takes a half hour for the Eye to make one complete rotation, and it does not stop for entry and exit; you simply walk into and out of the capsules as they are moving. This is a brilliant means of keeping the unfit from getting into the capsules, as well as providing amusement as more game ones give it a sporting try.
For the last few days of our trip, we stayed at The Bloom, a wonderful hotel next to the British Museum.
Each room has a different Dickens character theme, ours was the Pickwick Room. There were many original pieces of art related to Mr. Pickwick specifically and Dickens in general, including a framed check which Dickens himself wrote and signed. Mary Luton, a Dickens Society member, always wanted us to see London. It too us 25 years, but we finally made it, and I cannot think of a more appropriate hotel; She would have love it.
Our last night in London, Marion and Alan met us for drinks at The Lamb (yes another great pub), then took us to Ravi Shankar's for a wonderful dinner. Thanks for a great evening.
