 Melissa Pierce is an Opera singer, destined to be on stage. When she was young, she underwent a kidney transplant, which was donated by none other than Maya Brea. During her life, Melissa's greatest ambition was the stage. She desired to be under the spotlight, sometimes going through some evil actions to steal the limelight from other, more qualified actresses. She also has a drug problem, which ultimatly leads to her demise.
 Maya Brea, Aya's sister, is the purebred; she is the one who originally had the mutated mitochondria that would lead to everything in the Parasite Eve universe. Even though Maya is hardly a physical influence, when you do meet at the top of the Chrystler Building, she revieals some interesting information. Maya may just play a more significant role in Aya's life than you may believe.
