My Days are long
My nights drag on
I'm packin my bags
and I am gone

I'm leaving this world
far behind
My life has been
forever long

Troubles galore
are at my door
Time is never my own
I want to make that journey home

I will arrive at heaven
to those pearly gates
My Father will be there
I can hardly wait

He'll open the door
and welcome me in
I'll be there soon
together with Him

Now I see Him gazing
Sorrowfully into my eyes
as he asked with all the gentleness
of the voice of God

" My child what brings you home? "
"When I gave you the whole world to roam"

I Looked down as I softly spoke
Wanting to be sure
I told him of all I endured

Father
I needed to come back home
no more in this world I need to rome

My Days are long
My nights drag on
I packed my bags
and I came back home.

Oh my child don't you see
Only in My time
Here you'll be

The days are long
because I made this so
So you can fill them
with the things you enjoy

Like the work that makes you strong
and made you the person you are
and love and happiness you do share
with all of your loved ones there

The sound of children's laughter
ringing in your ears
Their eyes gently sparkling
For you chased away their fears

Or the brook you silently sit by
When you need a time to reflect
On all the blessings you received
Because of the life I gave to thee

Your nights draged on
because your days were not filled
of all the love I give to you
by letting you have the chance
to do all that you can do.

Life is to live to the fullest
Treasure each and every day
and one day My child
You'll be home with Me to stay.

Now don't you tarry
and don't be sad
There are hidden treasuers
in your life to be had

Live each and every day
and live it to your fullest
Your life has been blessed
go on your way

Live with Love and Joy
and remember when your walking
and you sometimes feel alone
Close your eyes and think of me
By your side I'll always be

Look around and
Smell the earths sweet air
See the rain as it changes to snow
feel the north wind blow

In all this world
things do change
and once again
spring will again bloom forth

The birds will sing
Their beautiful song
Life again does go on

As this is so
One day your problems will seem
Only a far off distant dream

Another day
or another night
Will take them forever
out of sight

So don't be hasty
To rush off My child
From this life I gave to you
and remember in all you do
I am right here
