Chapter 32

Before you know it, Isaac is pulling into the Hanson’s driveway. “What are we doing here?”

“Surpirse! A nice quiet evening at home. Just me and you.” He smiles and puts his car in park, tells you to stay sitting in the car and he walks around to the other side and opens the door for you.

He walks you up into the house and opens the door for you. The whole house is quiet. “Where’s everyone at?”

“Mom and Dad took Jessie, Avery, Mackie to my Mom’s sister’s house and then Taylor and Zac are all staying over at friends houses. Mom said that her and Dad would slip in the back door later and we wouldn’t even notice them.”

“So what does this evening have in store?” You ask him arching your eyebrow as you wrap your arms around his waist.

“Well.... I thought we could do a little dancing and have dinner. Then we can take it from there.” You laugh at him although he is trying to be funny.

Isaac walks over to the CD player and pushes play. The song that starts is Savage Garden’s ‘Truly Madly Deeply.’ “May I have this dance?” Isaac picks your hand up and looks into your eyes.

“Hmm.... I would love to.” He pulls you in against his body so close. You snuggle your head in between his shoulder and neck. Now, realizing that you would be leaving soon and how much you were going to miss him. In all actuality, you missed him already.

It seemed that you two had just starting swaying to the music when the song ends. You stop and look at him. “You want to stop and take a rest?” He asks.

“No, not really. I was just thinking of how nice it is to be here with you, to be in your arms.” He smiles and lightly kisses your lips. You smile and lean your forehead against his chin. The two of you stand there for what seems like a few seconds when you hear an alarm go off in the kitchen.

“Dinner is ready. I will be right back.”

“Do you need any help?”

“Nah. I can get it. Just have a seat here.” He pulls a chair out for you and then he lights two candles that are on the table. Isaac leaves the room for a few minutes and comes back in with two plates. They each had a steak. Accompanied by fried potatoes and peaches.

“Looks good. Did you cook this?”

“Yeah, but I have to be honest. Mom helped me.” He smiles and sets a plate down in front of you.

“Thank you sir.”

Throughout dinner Isaac told you how they were going to be on the Rosie Show again, as well as Letterman. Then a few weeks later, they would make an appearance on Jay Leno again. He told you stories about them being backstage at Rosie’s show and how they met some weird fans. Before you know, you had picked at your food and hardly ate any of it, making you feel bad. You could tell that he had put so much effort into the evening.

“What’s wrong?” He asks you.

“I don’t think I am ready to leave. Do you know how hard it is going to be leaving you?”

Isaac gets up and walks over to your side of the table and takes you in his arms. “Shh... it’ll be okay. We’ll see each other. It won’t be as often as it has been, but we will still be able to. Remember? We talked about this the other night.”

“Just do me a favor?” You get up and you walk with him over to the couch, you sit down on the corner. “Hold me.”

“Okay,” he takes a seat beside you and holds you in his arms. You lean your head against his shoulder and before you know it, you fall asleep.
