Re: A Testimony (#7)

July 2001

Dear Pastor Rod [Parsley],

I'd like to begin by saying thank you for preaching the uncompromised Word of God. I was unable to attend church for several months. And Breakthrough was a great blessing during that time.

I wrote you a letter in May 19, 2001. It was about 8:00 a.m. I had just reviewed my [Covenant] Partner information for that month and was again greatly blessed! I asked you in the letter to come into agreement with me that I would obtain a vehicle so that I could return to church. Understand Breakthrough is wonderful but, there is nothing like being here [World Harvest Church]. I put the letter on my desk to mail later, went shopping, and returned in a few hours.

When I returned home, my son told me that a pastor friend of mine had called me several times while I was gone. I returned his call and he said, "We're going to give you our van next month once we make the last payment." My reply was, "Praise God! How much is the last payment?" He said, "$400.00." I said, "When are you coming to get the $400.00 so that you can make the last payment?" He laughed and said, "We're on our way."

The miracle in this situation is that I am a single mother and residential childcare provider for Franklin County. In May I had finally gotten paid for watching four children since January 2, 2001. I actually had $400.00 laying around the house. My son and I came to church on Sunday May 20, 2001 and of course, service was a tremendous blessing. It felt so good to be home. But, as in all good things, the enemy had to make an attempt to ruin it.

Monday morning, May 21, 2001, as my son prepared for school, he had problems breathing. His lungs would not fill with air. He was in tears gasping for air. I called his doctor and he suggested he come to his office immediately. I called friends and asked them to pray for him as we were on our way. We arrived at the doctors office and were quickly escorted to an examination room. The doctor calmly said, "He is having an asthma attack but we don't know why." My son does not have a history of asthma and had never had an attack. Since then, he has been on various drugs for asthma and has been rushed into the doctor for breathing treatments twice. He had another attack the next Monday. I might add that all of his episodes were on the Monday after coming to church on the Sunday before. The doctor was making plans to send him to a pediatric pulmonary specialist and asked that we return on Friday for a follow-up appointment. I refused to return on Friday because the appointment was at 10:30 a.m. which would be the same time as the Anointed Partner's Service and we had to attend. I simply told Wendy the receiptionist at the doctor's office, "He'll be healed by then, but we can come back on Monday just to show you."

Tuesday night following service, we went home and I asked him to get his breath meter out and monitor his lung capacity. The doctor said that the meter should read 500. It had been reading 250 for days. On Tuesday night, it read 570! He is breathing normally and has even been volunteering in the nursery during campmeeting this year. I've been preparing him to be a mighty man of God. Even joking with friends that he will be your armour bearer once he's older. I have taught him to love you as I do and he will be a great protector of you when he is called. He is 11 years old, stands 5'8", weighs 191 lbs. and wears a size 13 shoe. We'll assume he is still growing, so know that we've got your back covered.

Thank you for your time. God bless you.

Sincerely,

Elysse M. Smith

Account to Pastor Lois Hoshor of Firm Foundation and Soul Seekers Evangelistic Association:

July 9, 2002

Rev. Lois Hoshor
Soul Seekers Evangelistic Association
P.O. Box 547
Thornville, OH 43076 USA

Dear Sister Lois,

Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus! Bob and I continue to pray for you and yours and the ministries you are stewards of, as God works through you to minister great things for the Kingdom!

This is an account of the birthing of For Heaven’s Sake Ministries - His Indwelling Spirit Ministries’ stewardship of this 18 wheeler ministry.

Bob and I were “moved” to the inter city in 1998 which there we were able to minister to the neighborhood of Linden. Across the street from us was Linden Park and we were given a wonderful opportunity to bring in a Gospel event to this area the 2 years we lived there. The first one was held Saturday, August 14, 1998.

In July of 1999, while leaving a friend’s house from working on their computer, I stepped down from the porch and something “snapped” in my right calf. I had her call Bob to be ready for me when I came home as I was in much pain and could hardly walk. I went to ER the next day and they couldn’t find the problem so I rested for a week off work for it to mend. The only thing I could think of was being ready for the Gospelfest which was a couple weeks away.

The week of the Gospelfest, which was on Saturday, August 14, 1999, we had much preparation. Tuesday, August 10th, I got home from work. Bob was in Indiana for work. I went out to pass around flyers to all the surrounding homes at the park, as we did last year, to let them know personally, what would be going on. As I was stepping down from the neighbor’s porch across the street, something snapped again, only this time like multiple rubberbands in my right calf. I immediately began spiritual warfare. No devil was going to take me out 4 days before the Gospelfest! I was in horrendous pain. I asked God to help get me home. My leg straightened and I walked home, praying in the Spirit, thanking and praising Him all the way into the house. Then, I collapsed in the living room. There’s more to this, but I worked the Gospelfest in a wheelchair! I was off work for 72 days with severed tendons in my calf and in a full leg cast I was practically immobilized.

Whenever I’m off work, whether it be vacation or whatever, I always know that God is going to meet with me about something. And He surely did! I was on disability and decreased pay, so He taught me about Him being my Provider, not Nationwide. And we also received another ministry assignment. Bob and I would be driving an 18 wheeler, ministering on the road. I was slain!

There was one time in my late teen years that I had desired to drive a truck across country so I could travel and make a living. That was put way back on the burner. Just a “fling” of a thought. But even with saying “going blonde when I turned gray” (with dye), God remembered that too, and gave me this hair from being auburn. He humors me, but mostly Himself, I believe! I let Him, too! But probably, He knows I need a good laugh! So, there I was, stuck at home, the Lord ministering to me about His Indwelling Spirit Ministries...On the Road birthing an 18 wheeler ministry. Well, all I could do was fast and pray and receive. And boy howdy, did I!

One day, I heard the Holy Spirit speak to me about he name for the ministry. I heard “Heaven’s Gate.” I said it over and over, because it sounded familiar to me. This went on for weeks. “Heaven’s Gate. Where have I heard that before?”, I said to myself. So I just continued to be in prayer, waiting for more to come. I was writing all this down, drawing pictures of this rig and one day a light bulb turned on and I remembered Heaven’s Gate was that cult in California that killed themselves. I said to the Lord that this was not called Heaven’s Gate and rebuked satan for that cloud, that lie! The Holy Spirit basically said, “No. It’s For Heaven’s Sake!” We laughed together. I almost got sucked in! It all came together and He flooded me with more. I had to get a separate tablet to write it all down. Heaven’s Gate Ministry became For Heaven’s Sake Ministries.

How are we going to get a $350,000 (just guestimated) tractor-trailer, Lord? There really wasn’t any question asked, though. He gave us that, too. We are to secure a professional to set up a presentation to Kenworth in Kingston, Ohio, with support from Covenant Transport, of how they can fully advertise with the white W900 Kenworth Studio Cab with the gold package, and with our 501c filing for non-profit, they can write it off as charity.

God has already introduced us to Christian women truckers to help support us, esp. me, a married couple to do the presentation from Nationwide, a dump truck driver out of World Harvest to help us with radio transmission, and a host of intercessors across the globe.

How will You provide financial for us? There really wasn’t any question asked here either. He gave us that, too. We are to take non-perishable loads and haul as private truckers with a lenient delivery deadline, allowing us to minister in transit.

Where are we to live? No question here either. The flood gates were opening so fast that I could hardly keep up with the documentation! We are to secure a wooded lot in the southern Ohio area - Jackson, Wellston, Vinton County - the impoverished areas so when we come off the road, we will rest in a small A-frame cottage that we will build. We can put back into that community by showing them “With God, all things are possible.” And helping in other ways like teaching kids and adults to read or provide tutoring. We can use the truck for charity deliveries of free provision - food, clothing, blankets, and books. Matthew 25:34-46

The ministry has a website out there on the Internet:
http://forheavenssake.ontheweb.com
This site has received an Award of Excellence from The Class A Truck Stop Chapel - April 2002. We have been “hooked up” with other Christian trucking ministries, too, and safety programs:

Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety
Presidential Initiative for Increasing Seat Belt Use
Transalive Ministry
Transport for Christ
Truckers for Christ
Layover.com

We are to provide bi-lingual translation in Spanish, too, in our travels. “Un lugar celestial” will go on the trailer, translating to: “A Little Bit of Heaven” which is actually a song that Jaci Valesquez recorded a while ago. I will be attending World Harvest Bible College in the winter quarter, beginning January 2003.

When all this first broke in 1998, we sat down with Bob’s parents and told them what was going on. I used my carnal to think about some things of how this was all going to be accomplished - Ok. I can retire at 55 which would give us my pension and retirement benefits! Dad said, “I believe it will be sooner than that. Maybe 7 years from now....” Oh, my gosh. This would really require a lot of faith and trust! Well, look what has happened. I lost my favorite position at Nationwide in 1999, hoping that they would give me a 60 day notice so I could receive severance pay. That didn’t happen. So, I ended up applying for an IT position and got the job but they had to approve me because of my salary being above average. They did.

I asked God, why did you allow my job to be taken away and me put in this one. He said, “I have taken you out of the land of Egypt, into the land of milk and honey. They would not listen to my instruction through you, so I will take care of them now.” I asked God when I got into the new position, “Ok, Lord. Where is the milk and honey in this job?” He said, “Look around you. In this field of technology you have homosexuals, lesbians, the occult, satanism. It’s ministry.” I accepted that. But how was I going to minister? He flooded me with what I was to do.

Start a Bible Club extension of the one at Home Office. We presented it to home office and they approved it. 6 other branches of the Bible Club were birthed and exist in Nationwide at other buildings.

In November of 2001, I had a tooth extracted where a root canal went bad. I was in a lot of pain and on antibiotics and went on disability. After a week and a half, the department I worked in gave me a 60 day letter of termination. I had gotten really sick with the diabetes being so high from infection and then when this came, I began having panic attacks! I was a mess! But I’ve learned that God is always in the middle of the mess. So, I’m giving this up to the Lord, saying, “Ok, Lord. What’s going on here?” I wasn’t due back to work until April 2002. My meds were changed, I went on insulin shots, I was to lose 20 pounds, take a stress test for the chest pains, etc. So, I asked God what am I to do when my job terminates. I felt peace about taking time to get a CDL license and driving a school bus this fall. This would be good to start gaining driving experience for the trucking ministry and would fulfill possibly a children’s ministry that I had heard from the Lord in 1995. So, my destiny was set for my new life. I was ready to go, once my termination was finished.

And then in January, we went to Lois Hoshor’s seminar in Lancaster. We went to Breakthrough Partner’s Conference in February. We heard. We waited. And then we were asked to become caregivers to Grandma and Granddad. We prayed and we accepted and were interviewed by the Family. We had peace, but began to search what God wanted us to receive through this. We were to learn about the elderly, firsthand. We were to be available, be company. Love. Be patient with them.

We heard from Pastor Benny Hinn and John Paul Jackson, too. We heard from the Lord through Pastor John’s teachings at the Father’s House. We heard from the Lord through Pastor Keith Clarey, and now again, we’ve heard. And through others we’ve received, all melting, molding, filling to be used. Thank God, we receive the Lord’s chastisement and repent, hear instruction, gaining knowledge and wisdom through obedience. I cannot stop from being overcome by the love that the Lord shows us through all this. He really loves us a lot. Ephesians 3:20

I can tell you that this is just a little bit of The Lot of how God has been moving in our lives. My apologies for the lateness of the documentation on For Heaven’s Sake Ministries, but this is His timing, not mine.

In His Service until my life’s end,

Carolyn Elliott

Re: A Testimony (#9)

Account of Miracle in My Life by Pastor Bob L. Elliott:

Hello, everyone.

Thought it was time for me to put down my testimony for y'all to read. I've got a lot of them, but the one that allows me to even be here goes like this:

I am a PK. We grew up in a God-centered home. We went through all the phases like being delivered of having a Haunted House on our homestead for Halloween breaking curses against the family, etc.

I was slowly walking away from the Lord. You know (which some may and some may not!) when you decide one Sunday you're not going to service, then another, and another, and another, til you don't go at all and you're not even under conviction. This all took place in 1984.

I worked for my dad's company as a young adult and on January 3rd, 1985, three days after I rededicated my life back to the Lord, I fell. I fell 37 feet!

I was a commercial sprinkler fitter. Been in the trade for a long time. I was on a job at, get this, the Ohio Worker's Compensation building and it was pretty much completed, but a sprinkler head in the lobby needed moved. It was on a wall next to the top of the stairway. But it was about 3 feet from the stairway. I rigged up the ladder with one of our employees and got up to the top of the ladder and was working on this sprinkler head.

I reached behind to my back pocket where my channel locks were, but I began to slide. I knew I was going to fall. Below me was unfinished stairs - concrete stairs that had steel bars protruding upwards like spikes. Off to the side was laying board. I made a split decision to push off the wall to miss the stairs and hit the board instead. I missed and landed partially on the board and the stairs, breaking my right leg in 7 places and blowing a pressure point out in my left leg.

As I was laying on my stomach screaming, I heard someone praying. I looked up and there was an old high schoolmate of mine. He was Randy Skaggs. Randy was a druggie, a hood. I didn't associate with him, but I knew of him. He was a classmate. I said, "Randy, is that you?" He said, "Yes, Bob. What do you need?" I said, "I need Jesus to take the pain away." So I asked, and he prayed and the Lord took the pain away. The building contractor ran up to me and asked me what I needed but then started naming things off. He said, "Do you need a cigarette?" I said, "No, I don't smoke." He said, "Do you need a drink of whiskey?" I said, "No, I don't drink." He said, "Do you need a Bible?" I said, "No, but that would be great, but I do need you to call first my father and tell him what's happened. Call the Christian TV station, WSFJ, and put me on the prayerline. Call an ambulance (which had been done) and tell my crew to get to work 'cause we're 3 weeks behind schedule!"

Intercessors were at the TV station 24-7, and when the call came in, my brother-in-law's mother happened to be at the station working on their program. One of the ladies who was praying said that she saw a man fall and described him. Sister Lois said to her that it was her daughter-in-law's brother, Bob Elliott!

Dad was at the job site a couple days later to check on things and a guy came up to him and said, "Are you that boy's father that fell?" He said that he was. The man continued to explain to him that he knew he was going to fall, but the weirdest thing happened. He said that his boy was falling head first and in a split second in the middle of descent, it was as if someone grabbed him by the back of the neck and turned him right-side up! That is was a miracle he saw because he would have died in that fall.

I, to this day, cannot thank my Savior, my Shephard, for leading me back to Him when I strayed and for the angels watching over me. People, you never know. Be ready in Christ, for with Him, you have eternal life in Heaven.

JOHN 3:16 says, "For God (Our Heavenly Father)so loved the world (that's you and me) that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus Christ); that whosoever (that can be you if you don't know Him!) believeth in Him shall not perish (die and go to hell) but have everlasting (eternal; forever) life (in Heaven)."

Jesus said: "I Am the door, by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved...come into Me...and I will give you rest." John 10:9

Isaiah 40:31 - "But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. "

Re: A Testimony (#10)

Account of My Salvation by Minister Carolyn P. Elliott, Evgl.:

Hello, Saints!

It's good to be in a place where there's a lot of love exuding. God wouldn't put us somewhere that would taint the anointing. Agree?

My husband, Bob has 2 children, Margo and Rusty and I have 1 son, Greg. We have 2 1/2 grandchildren, 4 other children with 2 grandchildren from osmosis (that we raised) and we are empty nesters now.

My birthday was Tuesday, August 23, 1994 at 1:30 am. I was baptised Thursday, August 25, 1994 at 7:30 pm. I received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost shortly thereafter, and was commissioned on Saturday, September 24, 1994 at 9:00 am through Isaiah 6 (it really happened....). Received the outward evidence of tongues in November 1995 at a revival in Columbus.

My greatest joy from the Lord was: He waited for me. Even as I write this, tears of unfathomable gratitude to Him fill me and my Spirit.

My mother and grandmother were raised in the Methodist Church. As a youngster, I attended Sunday school with my sister occasionally at the Methodist church and Church of Christ in Christian Union. My family offended when me and my sister had German measles and the Sunday school teacher told us, when we returned, "If you can't be here every Sunday, then don't come at all!" We never went back.

In 1982 as a divorced parent raising my son, one Sunday we hopped on the Baptist Sunday schoolbus and I was saved and was to be baptised that evening. I wanted to make sure my son knew God, too. The lay ministers there asked if my parents were saved and I said that I didn't know. They said that if they didn't get saved, they will burn in hell! I said that God wouldn't let my parents burn in hell. I never went back.

Throughout my life of sin, God was there. I only though, first knew this when He kept me from dying several times - drugs, alcohol, promiscuity. I was a heathen. And then one day, I asked Him if He was really there and He gave me a sign. I continued to live in sin, and then one day in June of 1994, I said 3 words - "Lord, I'm lonely."

I wasn't looking for a man in my life. I vowed to myself that I wasn't going to get married again or date because I couldn't pick them. A month later, on Tuesday, July 5, 1994, I talked to Bob in the library. We had gone to high school together and had seen each other on occasion at band reunions. It was his birthday.

I wanted what Bob had. Problems rolled off his back like oil on ducks' feathers. He laughed a lot and made me laugh, too. He was kind, respectful and a gentleman. I said, "What is that you have?" He said, "I'm a Christian." I said, "What's a Christian?" He said, "Jesus is my Savior." He explained to me about salvation and at 1:30 am on August 23rd, that's when I called him on the phone, bawling, needing Jesus. He lead me to the Lord. A month later, I was supernaturally delivered from niccotine. I had stopped drinking before Bob and I met. I stopped cussing.

We were married Thursday, November 10, 1994 at 7:30 pm at His Indwelling Spirit Ministries.

God doesn't look back at my past and neither do I, but He will use me and my past to minister to others. I love to tell how God orchestrated Bob and I meeting, courting, and marrying. There are many looking for love in all the wrong places. He just proved to me, that when I say "Never", well, that He's got a different agenda....

I will not forsake Him. No devil can separate me from my Father's love nor my love for Him. There's been times in my younger Christian days when I wasn't protected and the enemy crept in, but with the instruction I've received, I knew immediately how to get back on the straight and narrow path. HELP! PRAY! PLEAD THE BLOOD! REPENT! BE FORGIVEN! FORGIVE YOURSELF! FORGIVE OTHERS! GO ON!

Gee, I kinda' got long-winded there! My apologies. So much more happened and has happened. Let me hear from you some of your testimonies.

btw...my dad got saved, my mother received assurance as she was saved, my younger sister and her whole family got saved. Pray for Marilyn, my older sister as she is into the occult (Prayer for Marilyn).
