Recipes - Sauces/Marinades/Etc
Aldo's Ristorante Italiano House Vinaigrette
INGREDIENTS:
2 Tbsp. salt, or to taste (you may want to start with 1 tablespoon)
1/2 Tbsp. pepper
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 medium white onion, finely chopped
2 Tbsp. chopped green onion
2 Tbsp. chopped parsley (flat leaf Italian preferred)
3 oz. diced pimento (bottled are fine)
1 egg white (optional)
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 C. white wine vinegar
2 C. plus 2 tablespoons olive oil
Directions:
In a large bowl, mix salt, pepper and sugar. Add white onion, green onion, parsley and pimento; stir to mix. In a separate small bowl, whip egg white until frothy and light. Add egg white, lemon juice and vinegar to bowl and mix to combine. Add olive oil slowly, drop by drop, then in a slow stream, whisking constantly, until mixture is emulsified.
Hooters Special Dipping Sauce for Wings
INGREDIENTS:
8 oz Tobasco Sauce
3 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. ketchup
Directions:
Mix all three ingredients together in a small sauce pan. Simmer over medium low heat for 10 minutes, stir frequently. When sauce has simmered and completely blended pour in a small serving bowl and let cool before serving.
Joes Crab Shack Dipping Sauce
INGREDIENTS:
1 (8 oz.) Can Crushed Pineapple Natural Juice (do not drain, add juice)
1/2 C. Sugar
1/4 C. Red Plum Preserves
1/2 C. Sweet and Sour Sauce ( the yellow type not the red sauce, Kraft Sweet and Sour Sauce works best)
Directions:
Place all in a sauce pan and simmer on medium low to low heat for 20 - 25 minutes stirring frequently until mixture thickens slightly.
Great with Coconut Shrimp and it goes well with Chicken Nuggets.
Olive Garden Salad Dressing
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 C. Mayonnaise
1/3 C. White Vinegar
1 tsp. Vegetable Oil
2 Tbsp. Corn Syrup
2 Tbsp. Parmesan Cheese
2 Tbsp. Romano Cheese
1/4 tsp. Garlic Salt - or one clove garlic minced
1/2 tsp. Italian Seasoning
1/2 tsp. Parsley Flakes
1 Tbsp. Lemon Juice
Directions:
Mix all ingredients in a blender until well mixed. If this is a little to tart for your own personal tastes please add a little extra sugar.
Red Lobster Pina Colada Dipping Sauce
INGREDIENTS:
1 C. Pina Colada Mix
1/4 C. Water
2 Tbs.Crush Pineapple (drained)
1 Tbs. + 1 tsp. Sweetened Coconut Flakes
3 Tbs. + 1 tsp. Powder Sugar
1+1/2 tsp. Corn Starch
3 tsp. Cold Water
Directions:
Mix Pina Colada, water,crush pineapple, coconut, and powder sugar in a sauce pan.
Heat on medium low temperature until sauce begins to simmer, stirring frequently.
Let mixture simmer slowly 10 - 12 minutes.
Mix corn starch and water together, add to sauce and blend well.
Let mixture simmer for 3 - 5 minutes longer while stirring during and after adding cornstarch.
Remove from heat and bring to room temperature.
Goes great with shrimp.
