I'd Do Anything - Chapter 1

December '95

Jina slowly walked through the white halls of LaPlata High School in Waldorph, MD. Her long brown hair lay discusting and flat on her back. Her greenish\hazel eyes were all red and it looked like she hadn't slept all night. She put her hand against her nose and fixed her nose ring. She was wearing her pj bottoms with stars, her black converses and a black Greenday t-shirt. She was late for Algebra because she had been at the doctors for half the morning getting blood work done. Her aunt took her to the hospital last night she hadn't been feeling well for months and her aunt realized it last night when she found Jina passed out on the bathroom floor. Jina's parents died in a plane crash when she was about 5 years old she moved to Waldorph and lived nextdoor to Benji and Joel Madden two twins that changed her life and her best friend Heather. Jina sluggishly made her way towards the wooden door. She fixed her black jansport backpack as she entered the room.

"Well Ms. McCarver better late then never huh?", Mrs.Tobby stated looking at Jina. Mrs. Tobby was an old bag with short white curley hair and big assed glasses. Jina faintly smiled at her and went to go sit down next to Heather and Benji in the back of the room.

"Where have you been?", Heather questioned Jina quietly. Heathers burgundy/reddish hair lay in front of her shouldures.

"I was at the doctors I'll explain later, I dont want Benji to hear because I dont want Joel to know yet", Jina whispered back.

"Ms. McCarver do you have the answer as to why the reflection of A in line L is D?", Mrs. Tobby questioned.

"No actually I dont", Jina stated giving her an attitude.

"Well I guess you'll figure it out today at 3:00", she rudley smirked.

"I guess I will", Jina rolled her eyes angrily at the bitch.

"Im not f*cking going to detention after school today if that bitch wants me to come then she's going to f*cking have to get an army to bring me", Jina stated as she set her lunch tray down in the small blue cafetera. Her and Heather sat down at a small round table in the very back corner. Joel and Benji made there way over. Joel had blonde highlights on the tip of his hair in the beginning of the school year but he ended up shaving them off so now his hair was all black and Jina almost died every time she looked at his brown puppy dog eyes.

"Hey Jina, didn't see you in gym today faking sick?", Joel laugehd sitting down next to her.

"Yeah, of course you know me Joel", Jina said sarcastically.

"I need a smoke, Heather care to join me?", Jina questioned.

"Love to, but im not in the mood for a ciggy you can just explain to me what happend this morning", Heather stated. Jina grabbed her bag and went outside with Heather. They slid behind a tree that was far away from the school so they wouldn't get caught.

"So whats up with you?", Heather questioned staring at her best friend.

"Well last night I was at the hospital for 6 hours, and then they told me to go somewhere else to get my blood tested or something", Jina took a drag of her cig.

"Wait a second Jina that doesn't explain anything how the F*ck did you get to the hospital?", Heather was still confused.

"You know how Ive been feeling really awful the past few months, well last night my Aunt came in and found me passed out on the floor I dont remember this of course but she said I was in the emergency room and they said nothing was wrong with me and that I might have some silly thing called mono you know that "Kissing disease" or such so I went to go get my blood tested this morning, Im sure it's nothing Heath I'll be fine", Jina stated looking at the look on her friends face.

"Jina why didn't you tell me that you've been getting really sick latley", Heather questioned getting angry.

"I did remember Ive been late for days on end sometimes, f*ck ive told you every Saturday night you know how I always dissapear every once in a while. Im throwing up just about everything, I have fevers every night and I just can't seem to be getting any better all I get is tired", Jina explained. She dropped her cigarette to the ground and stepped on it.

"Listen ill be f*cking fine Im Jina Im god", Jina giggled.

"Your right Jina of course you'll be fine", Heather put her arm around Jina and they walked happily into the school.

"Lesbo's", some jock with a red and white jacket coughed. Jina and Heather looked at each other and both gave the popular boy the finger and walked over to the table where Benji and Joel were deep in conversation.

"BOYS I FEEL SOO F*CKING GOOD RIGHT NOW! LETS SKIP SCHOOL", Jina stated.

"You better not be skipping no school Ms. McCarver you have to figure out that math problem", stated Mrs. Tobby from behind Jina.

"Right Mrs. Tobby I almost forgot detention with you after school I'll have to get a note to get out of it from my Aunt Im really buisy today", Jina stated with a smart ass smirk.

"You've just gotten yourself an hours worth of detention Ms. McCarver I can't wait", the old lady walked away toward the faculty lunch room. Benji and Joel sat there laughing and clapping.

"F*ck off you too, that old bag has it coming to her", Jina sat down next to Joel and stole a bite of his burger.

"Hey thats school food your stealing from me, it's just as good as mom's home cook'n", Joel stated.

"Im sure", she stated putting the burger back on the tray.

Jina got her Aunt to get her out of detention that afternoon because she had to go and see how her blood work came out. Jina nervously waited with her Aunt in the Doctors office. They were in a small room with wooden walls and a wooden desk. There were tons of file cabinets around one of them holding Jina's blood test. She looked over at her Aunt. She had short red hair and blue eyes.

"Good morning Ms. McCarver and Mrs.Ferry", Dr. Katz stated as the hot dark and handsome young doctor entered the room. He had a smile planted on his face that must of ment something good came out of the test.

"Well Jina", he stated opening up the manilla folder.

"Your a really healthy girl Jina, but we did find a little something that we can help but it will only go away for a short period of time and we dont believe it'll ever fully go away. Jina you have Lukemia", the doctor stated. The words Lukemia struck Jina like 10 million pounds of bricks.
