The evil Garlic Junior (the villain of DBZ Movie #1) returns from the Dead Zone to get revenge on Kami with the aid of the Spice Boys, his squad of nasty ruthless fighters. Garlic Jr. traps Kami and Mr. Popo in glass bottles and releases the Black Water Mist upon the Earth. If someone breathes in the mist, it causes them to become super violent and evil. The Mist infects many people and animals including Chi-Chi, Master Roshi, Bulma, and Yamcha. It doesn't infect Gohan, Krillin, and Marron because they are underwater during the time that the Mist passes over their heads.
Chi-Chi, Roshi, Bulma, and Yamcha try to beat up Gohan, Krillin, and Marron. Piccolo arrives and Yamcha bites him, making him evil as well. In Kami's lookout, Gohan and Krillin try to rescue Kami and Mr. Popo. However, they have to go through Garlic Jr. and the Spice Boys first. Krillin gets bitten by Piccolo. Then, Krillin releases Kami and Mr. Popo. It turns out Piccolo wasn't affected when Yamcha bit him, and Krillin went along with his pretend act after Piccolo bit him, in order to rescue Kami and Mr. Popo from the glass bottles. The only way to change everyone infected by the Black Water Mist back into normal people is to spread the Seven Air Currents across the world. The Guardian and his helper leave on a magic carpet to accomplish this task. They take the Sacred Water with them, too.
During an extreme battle at Kami's lookout, the Makyo Star (Garlic Junior's home planet) becomes aligned with Earth and Garlic Jr. is able to transform because of it. His power level reaches approximately 4,000,000 and Piccolo has one heck of a time trying to defeat him while Gohan and Krillin take on the Spice Boys. Eventually, the saga turns out to be just like the "Dead Zone" movie. Garlic Jr. tries to draw our heroes into the portal to the Dead Zone, but Gohan thwarts his attack and knocks the evil villain back into the Dead Zone. And Kami and Mr. Popo are able to spread the Seven Air Currents and the evil caused by the Black Water Mist is undone.
During the last episode of the saga, Gohan and Krillin go after a giant pearl to give Krillin's girlfriend, Marron. During this time, Krillin decides to break up with her. With that, the shortest saga in the DBZ series draws to a close.
On to the Android Saga...
