THE LATEST
They're pulling out more bodies, most dead but a few alive. They're finding more guys that were in on this, they've almost got a black box, and odds are Mr. Bin Laden will have some trouble pretty soon. All we can do now is hope for the best, and that nobody else dies because of all this. Let's all hope Herarto Seto Ramin and Kayu and anyone else we know who went into the military don't die young.
Also, since Jackson won't update, I'd say Action of the day goes to the guys on the plane that crashed in Pittsburgh, for fighting back and stopping them from getting to Washington.
In other news, I have become one of the people turned away at a blood drive because they had too many people. I'm gonna try again tomorrow, especially since they say they need O. GET OUT THERE!
Well, it's 11:30. NJ police have pulled over a truck, not sure why, but it was full of explosives. Two or 3 guys have been arrested...FBI and in turn NYPD deny that explosives were in there. Say they were in fact near the Medow Lands, home of our beloved NY Jets Mets and Metrostars (and the late Hitmen).
The word from the Stuy seniors is that everyone made it out of there physicly unharmed. If you have a friend back there, give them a call, they all need a friend right now, they saw something tht wasn't pretty to say the least.

Now Batting...
Probably not me. I went to tryouts for the baseball team today, not quite knowing what to expect as it is a technology school. Well, with all the people that showed up we could have had our own damn team (granted, we'd only have 1 catcher). First there was running and stretching...and now I realize I never washed my hands after they ended up in goose shit and I ate pretzles...oh well.
(runs to bathroom to wash hands)
Then they split everyone up by posision (IF, OF, P, C). So I went off with the other infielders...and then we were sent to our specific in field posision.
I half thought I should try out at first going in, but I went to third anyway. There were 4 other 3Bs and a single 1B. Shortly after that they just lined everyone except the first baseman at short and started hitting ground balls.
Sounds good, twas a bit better than at least half the others...except they all threw A LOT harder than me.
Okay, so I can't throw very well. Next they had everyone sprint 60 yards. The coach later said 7.3s was the time he thought most college players should be able to get. Anyone who's been to one of the summer games knows I cn't run all that fast, but I managed something far faster than I thought I could ever get, 9.1.
The batting cage.
The 2 bunts went down perfectly (imbetween where the pitcher and 3B would have been). I completely mised 3 pitches (out of 30 or so, not counting the bunts). One went to the right, one up the middle, most of the rest were of carying heights to the left. The last one was a line drive up the middle, probably the best of the lot.
So, I doubt I made it. I find out officially if I made the first cut or not at 5. More on that later.
later....
The list of call back was a small piece of paper stapled on to a board with 2 names on it in pen. Not very easy to find...oh well. The 2 guys up there deserved it, I think one of them switch hits. No, I wasn't up there. Thanks to everyone who sent me a good luck message of sorts.
RIT...Day 7
Today I made a startling discovery...there was a baseball meeting yesterday I never heard about. After several hours of waiting in the trainers office, I got my physical and was cleared to try out Sunday. More on my baseball career sunday night...I hope.
BTW: I have gotten my sound back!
Times woken up by a phone call before 11AM: 4
RIT...Day 6
Today was the first day of classes. Upon going down to the lab, I noticed a sign. This sign read "Job Fair! Sept. 5....". Needless to say, with the date being Sept 6 and me still being unemployed, I was a little worried. After a bit of franticness, and yelling "Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck!" (no sound on my PC, no job, I was worried!), I eventually made my way to the student employment office, got one of those SEO cards, and went off in search of employment. Before long, I was signed up to flip burgers. On the bright side, I have a job that will probably lead to me not eating that stuff all the time, thusly, healthier. On the down side....I think we all know the down side.
Oh yeah, I had a class...we're learning stuff I could have easily done last year in september. Sigh. Craculus later on, we'll see if that's much better. Flynn out.
Money needed for books: $125ish
Times lights in bathroom went out while I was shitting: 1. It's dark in there!
RIT
Yes, I ave arrived in college. What happened to that update I said would happen on Satu 2 of you ask?
Well, I left my password at home, so I never got to get into the ethernet for a while, and I couldn't figure out I needed to dial 9 for an outside line. After a few emails and a few calls though, I have my really really fast connection.
Otherwse, things are okay up here. We've got digital cable, with Showtimes, and the ethernet. Mike had some trouble with his speakers at first, then thought to turn them on.
So...yeah. In 2 nights here, we have been woken up early by......2 phone calls. I have also already recieved a piece of junk mail from AT&T. It was promptly disposed of.
The people on this floor are pretty cool. They all seem to have signed up to be with eachother though (much like me and Mike) so everyone just kinda stays in their rooms plaing games all day...except last night when we all went out to watch Ferris Bueler in the field. And tomorrow there's an air hockey (or knock) tourny, that should be fun.
Anyway, more news as it comes. I would also like to take this opertunity to laugh at Rebecca's lack of TV. HAH! Ok, Flynn out.
Note: On the third morning, woken by phone call.

Braves 77 64 --
Mets are 11 games out of the Wild Card hunt
Here's the deal. If the Philies and Braves both play under .500 baseball the restof the way, and the Mets win every series they have left (including 2 more against the phils and 6 with the Braves), we can tie for first. I think they can do it.
Yes folks, the Mariners have clinched, and it's only September 4.
Phils 75 67 2.5
Mets 71 72 7
