This Months' Featured Lure!
For this months' lure we're back in Manhattan for a lure made by another little know company called Ferron Fishing Products. This lure is a beautiful rainbow colored Flaptail, with a sloped head for swimming a little deeper than a surface swimmer. (Thanks Sal for the use of your picture and lure). Similar to a Chas Russo and Lido flaptail in body shape, they were made around (circa) 1948. Ferron lures were made in four colors that I'm aware of, Red/White, a Blue Scale, a Grey scale and the Rainbow pictured above. Two body styles were made, a flaptail and a large popper. They also made block tin squids and Eel rigs like the ones pictured below. I really don't have much more information on the company and their lures. The above box is one of two that I'm personally aware of and the body styles listed are the only ones that I've seen.
