~ Lou's Racing Career ~

Welcome sit back, surf around and enjoy all the pictures of Louie. These are some of the memories that we hope to have remain with us for a long time to come.

The Good Olde Days.
Wonder if this clown gave Lou a run for his money!
Lou early in his racing career at Fonda Speedway
Lou with the Checkered Flag.
Lou with his car in 1960.
The car is loaded and ready to head off for the track.
Lou's car in 1968.
Louie and Blackie in front of his Bob's Auto Parts car at Fonda. The two things that Louie loved most ~ his racecar and his dog Blackie.
Louie and Blackie with his R.C. Putman ride at Fonda.
Lou & Blackie in 1977. Blackie was as much of a legend as Louie was. They were inseperable, the only time Blackie was not with Lou was when he was in the car racing.
February 1978 win for Louie at Volusia County Speedway ~ Florida.
Louie racing at Fonda in turn 1.
July 1998 Lou working on his car in front of his garage. This is what you could find him doing in his off nights from racing.
Lou & Mimi. Mimi and Lou shared the same interest in racing. She was always with him.
Climbing out of the car after his May 15, 1999 win. His girl Tina is cheering in the background.
Louie and the Gang ~ May "99" win. Dan Marrone, Louie, Me (Jann), George, Jr., Tina and Mimi in front holding the flag.
Louie's final ride, his 2000 car. This car will be put in the racing hall of fame.

Here is the last memory that we all will want to keep in our minds ~ Louie's Last Lap ~ at the Track of Champions ~ a Champion he was in more ways than one!

Lou "The Monk" Lazzaro 1935-2000. Notice the image of Blackie on the #4, this was the first year that Lou had it on his car. I like to think that Louie is in heaven with Blackie and giving all the other great drivers that have passed before him a run for their money!

His last race on April 29, 2000 he pulled out on the 17th of 30 laps, after getting lapped. He finished in 25th place. He was a hard runner right up to the end. He helped load the car and even signed an autograph before he went to the hospital. This was the kind of a guy Louie was he thought a lot about his fans.

Please sign my guest book! It is on page 4.

I would like to hear from Louie's
Friends and Fans and have them
share their memories with me and
others who visit this site.
THANKS!
