Q & A:
1. How long have you wanted to be an actor for?

"I became an actor accidentially, I was a chemistry major in college and I started doing some dancing in the Memphis area and I kinda feel into acting, liked it, and decided to audition for a conservatory in NY. So I left school in Memphis and came here."

2. Were your family and friends supportive?

"My mom was very supportive and that was enough for me, but my dad was supportive too which kinda shocked me, but everyone else was kinda scared for me, like my grandmother and my great-grandmother."

3. Who inspired you when you were younger?

"I wanted to be a laywer or a dancer not an actor, so I was inspired by my mom, sorry that's kinda corny but she told me i could be whatever I wanted and I believed her, so here I am! Living a dream!... And it is a dream!!!... It's wonderful being on that stage in such a great show!!!... it's a blessing.. so I try to have fun everytime I'm on stage!"

4. Where'd you grow up as a kid?

"I grew up in Houston, TX and Memphis, Tn."

5. Where'd you learn to sing?

"I used to sing in church because my father is a preacher, but I really didn't learn to sing properly until I started doing RENT."

6. What's your favorite thing about being in Rent?

"My favorite thing about the show is probably the thing that makes it so appealing to people... It touches people in such a way that it makes them drop their defences long enough to realize that we're all just the same.... we all want to be loved and to love; we all want to live life to the fullest; and we all want our loved ones to be happy. Basically people are just people and when human beings realize that, it is beautiful."

7. Out of all the shows and roles you've played, which is your favorite?

"My favorite show was based on a true story called "Camp Logan". It is about Negro soldiers in WW 1 and an incident that happened in Houston, TX, where the town and these colored soldiers get into a confrontation. 20 white people were killed and the court martialed 63 of these soldiers and 13 were hung... in the play you meet 5 of the 13 that were hung. I play this 19 yr old kid who leaves college to enlist and fight for his country because he thinks whites will treat blacks as equals once the war is over. Well he lives to tell the story of what happens... it's an incredible piece. I would like to do a movie about it and play the part of the part of the kid."
