I guess we all have felt like that on occasion! One time, when the kids were little, I said in frustration, "I'm going to pack my bags and go live in a cave in Alaska." They thought that sounded wonderful and were ready to pack their bags and join me. I didn't have the heart to tell them I was talking about going ALONE.
"It is not enemies who taunt me--
Ah, is there anything more heart-rending than the betrayal of a friend? A co-worker is going through that now. Her best friend, her roommate of several years, came home from work one day and said, "I'm moving out, going on my own, NOW" and left.

Dear Lord,
and the heights of hills are his also."
This morning it is more like our usual weather; the sky is overcast and it is GLOOMY! We had been so blessed with the long stretch of beautiful days.
do not hide yourself from my
supplication." so begins Psalm 55
"And I say, 'O that I had wings
like a dove!
I would fly away and be at rest;
truly, I would flee far away;
I would lodge in the wilderness;"
I could bear that;
it is not adversaries who deal
insolently with me--
I could hide from them.
But it is you, my equal,
my companion, my familiar
friend
with whom I kept pleasant
company;
we walked in the house of God
with the throng." V. 12-14

and violated a covenant with
me
with speech smoother than butter,
but with a heart set on war;
with words that were softer than
oil,
but in fact were drawn swords." V20-21
You who invite us to walk the way
with You;
Who knows about the betrayal of
a friend;
Be with she who has been betrayed and
is suffering.
Bring her the balm of Your love
And the peace which passes all
understanding.
