Too shocked to write much tonight.
The Lord is My Shepherd

This is a very sad night; it will be the second night our colleague has been missing. She was dropped off in her village in the north yesterday at 2:10 p.m. to do some errands on her way home. She never made it.

The young woman in question is a compassionate, loving person who is the advocate for our children with special needs. She is also the mother of an adolescent boy. Her family reported her missing at dinner time last night.

This afternoon her work bag and her purse were found in a small park not too far from her house. We are a rural county. The village she lives in is a college town. We all thought we were safe from the horrors of the big city.

We are all praying for her and for her family. We don't know what else to do. We would like to help in the search, but at this point, the professionals have not opened the search to the public.

Tomorrow, after church, another colleague and I, both of us friends of this young woman, have to leave for Michigan and a week-long training. It will be hard to be so far away during this terrible time.

Not as hard as it is for her family.

Dear God, hold her under the shadow of your wing. Amen
