GARTH BROOKS TO PLAY WORLD'S LARGEST CONCERT!

Garth Brooks is used to the roar of a large crowd. In 1997 he played to a crowd of eight hundred thousand at New York’s Central Park. Brooks announced his plans this morning to play for a record crowd of 3.2 billion on October 16th, 1999.

Finding a venue for such a large production is no small task. The average venue seats around thirty thousand, but Garth Brooks will require one that is one hundred thousand times that size. Since no existing venue is anywhere close to that size, Brooks has decided to buy the state of Kansas for that purpose.

Kansas will prove to be the ideal site for Brooks concert, the singer believes. "It’s so damn flat that the people out west near Kanorado should have no trouble seeing the stage in Kansas City" Brooks explained, "And I think a lot of people will be happy to see Kansas being put to good use".

Brooks plans on building a stage approximately two miles high and five miles long. This will allow him plenty of room to perform his wild stage act as well as make himself visible to those far away. For the spectators seated west of Topeka, Brooks plans on building a video screen that will measure five miles by fifteen miles. Fans should be able to see the screen from the Colorado border, but there will be two hour delay on the sound due to the great distance. Brooks is pleased at the quirk, he feels that it will "allow the people out east to leave earlier so they can beat the crowd."

The seating is just one problem that Brooks is facing in planning the concert. Parking is another major concern, but Brooks has found an innovative solution for that also. "I have rented out the entire state of Nebraska for parking", Brooks explained, "But unfortunately, in order to keep ticket prices down I will have to charge for it". Brooks promised to keep the parking fee reasonable and charge the usual thirty five dollars that fans pay for any large event.

Kansas will earn its place in the history books for the large concert, but it will cease to exist as a state. Besides the fact that all the crops will be trampled, or die in the shadow of the gargantuan video screen, the entire population must be cleared out.

To begin this seemingly enormous task of relocating large groups of people, Brooks has decided to seek the advice of the U.S. Government, an authority on relocating large groups of people. The sale of a state to an entertainer is unprecedented, but the US government is pleased with the deal.

Brooks paid five billion for the state, which will go towards ineffective social programs. President Clinton has promised to look into selling off other seemingly boring states. Among those being considered are; Iowa, Montana, North Dakota, and Oklahoma.
