Graduation: 25 May 2003

Four years in the making... it was exciting, but pretty sad at the same time seeing people we won't see again for a long time, if ever. Considering there were 7000 or so people graduating (counting the masters and doctorate students), things were pretty well run. Everyone met on the Arts quad at 9am and organized by college... the procession to the stadium started at 9:45am and lasted until 11am when Commencement started. It was amazing.. everyone -- graduates and parents in the stands -- had a cell phone in one hand and was waving frantically with the other, screaming "can you see me?!?! I'm by the ________. Can you see me?!?" It was pretty funny.

After the main ceremony when honorary diplomas are given to representatives from each college, each department had its own ceremony where you receive your actual diploma. I happened to walk the stage right in front of my "husband" (my favorite of the neighbors' friends who proposed to me one night) and one of our other pretty attractive friends. Unfortunately, no one took a picture from the right angle and they are not on film :(

Esra, Kevin and me (apparently K-Dawg has already graduated and moved his tassle even though we hadn't even assembled on the Arts quad yet, hehe) Julia and I attempted to get a picture of the JGSM MBA students having their diplomas conferred... they all had two huge paper $100 bills taped to the tops of their caps! But they were too far away..
