Part Two

Lotor waited until the doors slid shut behind him before allowing himself a small smirk. Niloc was a fool. He was a good leader, but not as good as he thought. Not when he underestimated an enemy much closer to home. The same went for the king. Zarkon may be a powerful ruler, but sometimes he didn't see things right before his nose. Lotor appeared to be a failure in most respects, but in truth he was the exact opposite. Because the most important plans, his plans, were being done and successfully. Neither Niloc or his father knew that. As to what was going to be done, only he and his elite team of the best Drule soldiers knew. As he walked down the corridors, his troops were working on his latest idea...his greatest. An idea that would bring the end of Voltron and Arus. Niloc wasn't the only one full of ideas.

He headed towards Hagar's laboratory. He knew that he shouldn't reveal too much of his actions to anyone outside of his troops, but he needed Hagar and her magic to get things done. Besides, it may prove useful. He knew his father was within a hairbreadth of eliminating him and Lotor knew that his secretive demands on Hagar was intriguing to Zarkon. If he could keep the old King's interest, he may live long enough to do what he had to.

He entered the laboratory to find the witch watching someone on her crystal ball. He hardened his steps so that she could hear him. Hagar turned her head to see him coming and returned to her business as soon as she recognized his form.

"Is there something you want?" she asked him, her eyes riveted on the crystal ball.

"Why else would I come here? Certainly not to see your beautiful face." Lotor sneered.

"Get on with it then," she snapped. "I have better things to do than talk to you."

"I want you to infect that officer that was prisoner here...Sven...with your mind-controlling spell again. Since it has finally worn off, we have lost our best spy," he said. "And I've thought of the perfect way to go about it."

"I hope you didn't hurt yourself or someone else in the process."

Lotor ignored the comment, though his nostrils flared in annoyance. "Romelle has been taking daily visits to Voltronia, to the orphanage there. I want you to go into the castle disguised as her and cast your spell over him. We need him in there. I will accompany you as a poor little orphan boy to make sure you get the job done."

"Why the need for Sven, Your Highness? It's not as if you have some need for the information he can obtain?" Or do you?

"Just do it, Hagar!" Lotor ordered. "I want to get on my father's good side for once and this will do it."

Hagar studied his face with her cat-like eyes. "As you wish. But how am I to land on Arus without being detected?"

"Leave that to me," he said, his voice dipping mysteriously.

"That's what I'm afraid of."

He glared at her. "Just prepare yourself, Witch. We leave in the morning."

He left her before she could say anything else and turned his eyes skyward as if asking for some heavenly aid.

It's so difficult to find good help these days, he mused.

Lotor retreated to his chambers, opening the double doors with relish and they banged against the walls loudly, scaring the girls within. He leered at them and advanced towards the bed. The three girls tried to scoot to the furthest corner of the room away from him, but they knew by now that it was useless.

The doors banged shut.
