My nominee for the Random Act of Kindness of the Month Award goes to Hakeem Johnson of Class 4-306. One of the children in Mrs. Camarda's class accidentally dropped another child's books. Hakeem immediately got out of his seat and picked up the books. I thought that was so nice of him and hope that other children will emulate this behavior. I am so proud of you Hakeem.

Claxton Elementary School
Stacey Caskey
Teacher - grade 2

We have been talking about fire safety and what to do in an emergency all year. Yesterday, Josh called Brady's house and heard his mom screaming that the house was on fire! Brady's phone line went dead after Josh's call and the family was unable to call 911 themselves. Joshua hung up the phone and called 911 to save the day. Joshua saved his classmates whole house from burning down. We are so proud of him!

Southwest Elementary
Ruth Kem
Teacher - Grade 4

These students from Mrs. Kem's class were selected by their classmates because they follow the Six Pillars of Character. They are kind, responsible, do good in school, and are helpful to others. They try their best!

This month's Random Act of Kindness award goes to Jade Vadnos of Astral 3-204. Jade always helps in keeping the classroom neat and clean. Without being told, she fixes the baskets of books on tables. If a book needs some mending, she is usually the first one to find it and tell me.

Harriet Stolzenberg
Teacher - computer lab

My nominee this month proves that we can learn some very important lessons in kindness from the youngest child. When a new boy to class 1-104, named Isaiah, came to the lab for the first time I sat him next to Renata. Not only did she make him feel at home, but also she was generous enough to give up her own time on the computer to aide and assist him. What a shining example for all of us to follow!

Steele School
Scott Stolzenberg
Teacher - Music

Maryssa is a fourth grader at the Steele School.  She is an outstanding student who will portray the part of Charlie Brown's sister Sally in our school's musical production of "Snoopy!"  Besides acting, she's been involved in all aspects of the production including creating costumes and scenery.  Maryssa graciously gave up her time and shared her talents during lunch, recess and after school to ensure a successful production!  Whether it be on the stage, behind the stage or under the stage, Maryssa gives a billion percent!  Brava!
