is Waka giving out a symbol of peace to the whole world.
Waka is our winner of the Kindness Award this month and we
are delighted to tell everyone that he is a really good
mate. He even pops over to other friends' homes after school
to play and share his things. Waka enjoys playing the drums
in his spare time. Good on you Waka
KA PAI TAMA!!!!!
(Good Boy (Maori Language)). P.S.
279 My
nominee for the Random Act of Kindness of the Month is
Kemar Downer in Mrs. Hecht's class. Kemar found money in
the lunchroom. He then proceeded to turn it in so the rightful owner could be
found. We are very proud of his honesty! P.S. 279
Todd Edwards of class 3-204 would like to give the award
to Daniel Reid for always being such a good friend to
him. Daniel always lets Todd borrow things that he
needs.
Class 3-204 is very fortunate to have two nominees that
they are proud of! Steele School P.S. 279

Teacher - Grade 3 Class
3-204 would like to give the Random Act of Kindness Award
to Ariana Carmona for always sharing her snack and school
supplies with her classmates.
Scott Stolzenberg
Teacher - music Spencer
is in fourth grade at the Steele school. He is a member
of student council and recently played "Sam I Am" in our
production of "Seussical The Musical!" Spencer is the
ultimate helping hand. Spencer is there when another
student in his class needs help with classwork. Spencer
is there when the librarian needs a book reshelved.
Spencer is always there to hold the stuff I'm carrying so
I can get the key in the classroom door. Everyone should
have a Spencer- it's worth the expense!
Harriet Stolzenberg
Teacher - computer lab I
would like to nominate Lindsay of class 5-318 for the
Random Act of Kindness of the Month. Lindsay has been
acting as a monitor for K-A126 during her lunch period.
When I have the class in the computer lab she is always
there to help the children and me. She has a wonderful
raport with the children and is very kind and patient.
Perhaps one day she will come back to 279 as a teacher of
her own class!
