February 2004

P.S. 279
Rosalie Azzopardi
Teacher - Grade 3
Class 3-204 would like to award this month's random act of Kindness to Melissa McIntyre. Melissa is an excellent role model for her peers. She always acts as a good citizen and shares without asking for anything in return. She is an excellent student that works to the best of her ability.

St. Thomas Aquinas School
Celeste Davis
Teacher - grade 4

This month's nominee from St. Thomas Aquinas is Kimberly Cuthbert-Holmes.  Kimberly is another student who has learned the meaning of daily random acts of kindness from home.  Kimberly is always thinking of others.  Whenever students are asked to bring in items from home, Kimberly always brings in extras in case someone forgets.  She demonstrates the true meaning of being a friend.  She always has a kind word for everyone.  When working on a project with her classmates she always makes sure that her group has the proper materials.  She does all of this out of the kindness of her own heart.  We are all happy she is part of our classroom.

Steele School
Scott Stolzenberg
Teacher - Music

Nick is in fifth grade at the Steele School.  Come springtime, he will star as P. T. Barnum in our drama club production of "Barnum!"  Nick is being recognized this month for his dedication and support of the drama club.  He cares more about the production as a whole than his individual performance.  Nick is always very thoughtful and caring to his fellow castmates!  Last year, he had a supporting role in "Snoopy" and now he's climbed the tightrope all the way to the big top!

Claxton Elementary School
Stacey Caskey
Teacher - grade 2

This month, I would like to honor my whole class. We have had some hard times come up and we all were there to support each other. In addition, we have had two new children join our class, Trevor and Maryn, and the rest of the class has welcomed them with open arms and made them feel like part of our family.

Alton R-IV Elementary School
Julie R. Thompson
3rd Grade eMINTS Teacher

The Random Acts of Kindness Student from our classroom is Abby Jo.  Abby is always eager to volunteer for errands.  She offers to help those who request a reading partner and is among the first to peer tutor when needed.  She has a great sense of humor and a beautiful "outlook" on life.

Palmerston Public School
Marcia Williamson
Teacher - Grade 2
Our nominee this month is Aaron. Aaron is a great person. He is kind and helpful to others and always listens when you talk to him. Aaron does extra jobs around the classroom and never complains because he likes to help. He shares snacks and plays with others. When someone has no one to play with Aaron will play with them. Aaron is always in a good mood and loves a good joke.

 P.S. 279
Harriet Stolzenberg
Teacher - computer lab

I would like to give this month's award to the special education paraprofessionals. Without their help the computer lab experience would not be as enjoyable and educational. They always are very attentive and helpful. Most importantly they do their job with love! That is very evident in the faces of the children they work with. It's people like this who make 279 a great place to be!
