Random Act of Kindness of the Month

April 2002

Titahi Bay North School
Kathryn Pierre
Deputy Principal
Room 6

Room 6 would like to nominate Stevie for the kindness award this month. We all agree that she deserves it the most. She has been very helpful in the class and to her friends. She reads with other children, she helps others and plays nicely with all who she meets. Well done, Stevie… we think you are just lovely!

Sts. Peter and Paul School
Ms. M.Portugal
Teacher - grade 4

All year long Brian A. has been very caring, sensitive and honest; he is a great role model and leader. He helps others with their class assignments, enjoys sharing his materials and is often heard praising and offering kind words to his fellow classmates. Above all what I like best about him is that he is very fair. This is one of the many characteristics that makes Brian a great friend. Congratulations Brian!

Staff Developers - Project READ

We are nominating Destiny Mathurin for the Random Act of Kindness Award. Destiny is a fifth grade student in Mrs. Rivers' Project Read Plus Math Class. Without her help, Ms. Pallante and I would be lost. Everyday she comes down and picks up the bus children. She took this responsible assignment without being asked. All the other children respect and listen to her. It is a pleasure. With her help and dedication we know these children are ready to go home. Our hats go off to her.

Rosalie Pallante
Teacher - Grade 3

Denise Rogers of class A3-204 would like to nominate Ariana for the Random Act of Kindness this month. Denise said that when she was doing something at the end of the day, Ariana got her coat and book bag for her. To quote Denise, "I do not know why, but it was a very nice thing to do!" We certainly agree!

 Steele School
Scott Stolzenberg
Teacher - music

David is a fifth grader at the Steele School. He is a member of the student council, drama club, and mathletes. David recently came in second place in our district wide spelling bee. David is being recognized this month for all of the extra effort he provides our music program. Whether it's helping other students memorize their music for the spring concert, grabbing a paintbrush and painting scenery for the school play, or picking up one hundred scripts that just fell on the floor, David is always there and eager to get his hands dirty. David's motivation and dedication inspire us all!

Harriet Stolzenberg
Teacher - Computer Lab

I selected Marissa of class A2-219 as my nominee for the Random Act of Kindness this month. She performed an unselfish act to help out a friend. The girl Marissa sits next to couldn't print her card in color. Her computer only gave her a black and white copy. Marissa gave up her lab time to let her neighbor use her computer so they both could have color copies of their work. What a nice thing to do! Way to go Marissa!
