Day 11
This morning we slept in late. One we got motivated we headed out for lunch. Dee had never been to Palace Station so I thought we’d go there to eat and we could use some match plays from the POV.
We hit the Café for lunch and both ordered off the complete meal deal menu and got $9.99 lunches. These are a great deal and include an appetizer, entrée, and a dessert off of a special list. I had a bowl of cream of broccoli soup, the roasted beef sandwich and chocolate cake. The food was excellent. While we waited for our food Dee ran and played a 5 game Keno ticket with our numbers. We won a dollar on one game but had fun rooting for our numbers to come up.
On the way out we stopped at a blackjack table to use some match plays. I had a 17 and Dee had a 19 against a dealer 4. It was looking good until the dealer slapped a 5 on her 14 and beat us both. We’re on a bit of a losing streak right now but luckily they’ve been of the $5 variety and not $25. We’re now 31 for 59 on coupons.
Dee wanted to do something different today so I suggested we got to Primm to the 3 casinos out there and to the outlets. She liked that idea and off we went. The ride was uneventful and when we got there I drove into California so Dee could take a picture of the sign and actually go more than 5 feet over the border like we did in the summer down near Laughlin. This time she got to go a few miles over the line.
I had only stopped here one time for a pee break so this place was new to me and Dee hadn’t been here either. Our first stop was Primm Valley Resort. We used the POV coupons for $5 in Free Play. I did well with mine and turned it into $4.80 on a penny game. I also played a bit more and hit a machine for a $30 win. On another machine I got a bonus round and a few larger hits and cashed out of Primm Valley with a small Victory.
Next up we walked through the outlets and shopped in a few stores. There were lots of sales and stores to choose from.
Our next stop was over to Buffalo Bill’s. We checked this place out and played a variety of penny slots. I hit a few bonus rounds and got out of there with some additional winnings. Between the 2 properties so far I was up about 80 bucks.
Next up was a quick stop at Whiskey Pete’s across the street. This place is the lames of the 3 if you ask me. We didn’t stay here long and didn’t play. We were going to grab a bite to eat at the café but after waiting at the podium for close to 10 minutes and no hostess even coming over we decided to just leave and come back to Las Vegas to eat.
Our first stop in Vegas was South Point. Dee had never been here before and I had printed off a coupon before our summer trip that was good for $25 in Free Play for new sign ups that we never used. She used that tonight and I had a coupon good for $10 in free play that I got in a trade.
The first order of business was food. We hit the Coronado Café for some appetizers. We got some chicken fingers and a quesadilla. They were both great and hit the spot.
After we ate we activated our free play. I was worried they weren’t going to take the coupon from Dee because so far we’ve had no luck redeeming free play coupons for her. Everything worked out well though and she had a nice $25 to play with. I thought this was a pretty generous deal. We played quite a while on our free play. I got out of there without inning or losing anything but did play quite a while.
On the way out I used an ACG coupon for 2 waters. I’m glad I had this coupon because these crooks charge $2 a bottle!
We left South Point and were going to go to Eastside Cannery to play a bit and hopefully get on their low limit games. On the way we passed by Sunset Park and the Christmas Light display. Dee thought we should go so I made a loop around the block and headed in. We got there just a few minutes late and they were closing. We missed it by just a few minutes but could see quite a bit of it from outside and it looked really cool.
When we got to Eastside Cannery the tables were packed so we played some penny games. I was getting some play but very few bonus rounds. It didn’t matter what I played I just couldn’t hit tonight. Dee was getting beat up too but then hit a mini jackpot bringing her even for the day. She was excited about that and so was I.
On the way out we played some match plays on roulette. Dee took her normal odd and hit. I played black and lost taking us to 32 for 61 on coupons.
We left Eastside Cannery and went to Sunset Station. Dee had been seeing billboards for a graveyard special at Sunset offering all you can eat pancakes and has been craving them ever since. When we got there we were going to play some table games but the place was full so we decided we’d just go eat. This didn’t happen though. The café was closed for its weekly cleaning and Dee didn’t get her pancakes. I felt really bad for her because she was looking forward to that all afternoon.
To get some lower limit tables we decided to go back downtown to Main Street Station and the California. We looked at the tables in Main street and they were full and the Cal was too so we were going to go eat. The line for the Market Street Café was a mile long so we went back to Main Street Station and found a $5 double deck game. This table was choppy and then got bad but then leveled off a bit. Dee cashed out sooner than I did and squeaked out a small win. I played a bit longer and won back most of what I lost earlier in the day. I was pleased with this and had a good time playing with her.
Now it was time to eat and Dee was destined to get her pancakes. She didn’t care how long the wait was going to be at the Cal so she got in line. While she waited I went to the pit and got a comp. They gave us $20 to use and I knew that would be plenty. The wait was over 30 minutes to get into this place. Not because it was so busy but because they felt the need to leave 2/3 of the room unused tonight. This irritates me because I think if they are short staffed they should still give their servers a few extra tables to take care of, even if it slows service down a bit. I still don’t think casino suits understand that every minute a guest stands in line is a minute they aren’t spending or losing money somewhere else on the property.
We finally got seated and I ordered my favorite hot turkey sandwich here. I also went with the blueberry pancakes. I knew it was going to be a lot of food but other than the appetizers at South Point I hadn’t eaten in over 12 hours. The food was good like it always is here and the bill came in just at $20.
We got back to the Hilton at about 4:30am and crashed after a long but fun day.
Total win/loss for the day -$50
Total comps for the day $236
