Day 14

Gaming:
After dinner we all went to a locals bar called O’Aces. I was here once before in July. We didn’t stay here too long. Just long enough to drop another $40 or so.
From O’Aces we went over to the Orleans and played some double deck blackjack. I only started out with $5 bets because I was playing more for the entertainment and to hang out with friends than to win money at this point. I was up a little and pressed up to $10 bets. Things stayed for a while until they went to shit. I was going to quit ahead a few bucks and took a shot with just 1 $25 bet. I was dealt a pair of 6’s against a dealer 6. I of course split them and got double down hands on each card. I now had $100 in action. This was just like the old days. Not really something I wanted after the losses of this trip. The dealer turned over an 8 for a total of 14. He took a hit and draws a 2 for 16 and then follows that with an effing 4 for a 20 to beat both of my hands. If that’s not bad enough the dealer than tells me I should have never split 6’s. I was ready to jump over the table and choke that asshole.
Total win/loss for the day -$350
Dinner tonight was at the Hilton Steakhouse with Anne and her whole family again. This was going to be a long night with 12 of us there and with Mark serving us. I never saw so much food in my life than I did tonight. I had some mozzarella appetizers and most others had some seafood platters. For my main meal I had the prime rib. It was a nice cut tonight. I also tried out the creamed spinach and that was also very good. For dessert Mark brought out some chocolate soufflés and for me he special ordered a birthday cake for me. This cake was really good and was loaded with whipped cream and berries. If I weren’t so stuffed from the rest of the meal I would have had more of it. After 4 hours of non-stop eating the damage was done and we had a total bill of over $1000. Ouch! It wasn’t that bad in the end though because Anne’s mother had been saving up her comps for a long time and had a $700 comp to off set that total and got 25% off for being a local. That’s the largest comp I’ve ever seen!
Stuck with deuces wild this afternoon and pretty much more of the same happened. Dropped money at a rate of $100 per hour. I was into my 3rd hour before hitting my first wild royal. I still haven’t hit the deuces and I am now around 2 cycles since my last royal. You just can’t go this long without the key hands and expect to come out a winner.
Total comps for the day $110
