Day 22
I slept in today and started off with more double deck blackjack. This table started off good from the beginning. The only exception was a dealer hot streak that lasted 2 decks before she cooled off. From here it was all up hill. I was making my doubles, pressed my bets and continued to win although I pressed a little too late and really could have made a killing although I did want to play a little more conservatively now that I’m down again. After the dealer started what seemed to be another hot streak I got out of the session with an $800 win.
It was a good time to quit because it was now going on 5pm and I had dinner reservation with Anne and her family for Benihana at 5:30 so this gave me a short break before dinner. I didn’t know it but Anne had also invited a bunch of her friends from California who were in town to join us. There were 11 of us in total. For those that haven’t been to Benihana it’s exhibition style cooking and they prepare all of your food right in front of you. It’s entertaining and the food is good too. It’s also pricey but the meal is all inclusive with soup, salad, shrimp appetizer and your entrée. I had the Rocky’s choice and that is NY strip and chicken. They also stir fry veggies to go with the meal as well. We also had an order of chicken fried rice to go with everything.
When we left Benihana we stopped by the Steakhouse to see Mark the Waiter for a few minutes. We hung around the Hilton for a while and Anne and Steve played a bit while I tried to get some stuff straightened out at the slot club. After 20 minutes of dealing with idiots, including a supervisor, I think it got fixed, but I can’t really be sure.
From the Hilton we went out to Silverton and played some video poker. I tried out my luck on dollars and had no luck at all as it seems things have been the last few weeks. I lost $400 and didn’t get much more than 2k in action. Next I tried some 3 card poker. I don’t play this game very often and I can’t say I’ve ever played it in Las Vegas. I should have kept it that way since the dealer was on fire getting straights and flushes one after another while I wasn’t getting anything. I dropped $200 on this table and gave up.
We all left the Silverton and I came back here to the Hilton and played blackjack. Things started out tough. I was getting plenty of double down hands but the problem was I couldn’t seem to win many of them. If I won 1 out of every 5 doubles that was a lot. Things continued to be tough then they went bad. All said and done I lost over grand in this session. I did take a break for a while and then tried again. It was more of the same and I dropped another load of cash during the second session.
It was still early so I played a variety of penny slots just for some fun. Some of these are totally boring but some are quite entertaining. I actually played these things all night long getting a little ahead on a few machines thanks to some bonus rounds that paid me over 3000 coins. I had no idea what time it was when I quit but I soon found out it was close to 6am. I had played all night long and cashed out with a nickel in winnings. Hey you know, after the ass kicking I took at the tables any win is a good thing.
Since it was now close to 12 hours since I had eaten I grabbed some chicken fingers at the Paradise Café. Is it me or are these things getting more and more expensive by the day. A damn order of chicken fingers these days is like 8-10 bucks almost everywhere I go. The café was dead tonight and the service was pretty good since all the servers were standing around doing nothing. I finally got to sleep around 7am!
