CardCaptors
The GemCaptors Chronicles

Episode One

Wrapped Up in Trouble

Two years had passed since Sakura Avalon had captured all of the Clow Cards, and lately she had been finding life very boring. She knew during the that time, she would not want to get up in fears that Kero would tell her there was a card for her to capture. Lately though, every morning she would wake up and hope that Kero would say they missed a card, so she could put on one of Madison’s battle costumes, then race out the door to use her magic powers and fight alongside Li Showron and Meilin Rae. However, now they were all thirteen. Meilin had returned home to her hometown of Hong Kong, but Li chose to stay at the school because he said he didn’t want to leave the friends he had there behind. Sakura was glad for she secretly liked him at the time and still did, but she never knew how to put it into words. Now she was on the volley-ball team and Li had taken up soccer ever since the incident with the Time Card. Madison had started a group called The Creative Productions Club, where those who enjoy the media could get together and make movies. Kero was still around, for he said he still sensed strange powers drifting about Reidenton. Life was peaceful, serene, quiet, and Sakura hated it.
It had been three weeks since they all started the seventh grade. Everyone was getting used to their new school uniforms. Sakura walked into the classroom wearing hers, which was a pale blue shirt with a navy blue bow in the front, and a black scarf around her neck and on her shoulders. Her skirt was a navy blue colour, and it came down to just below her knees. She as well wore white socks with black shoes. Her hair hadn’t changed, but today she wore blue hair ribbons instead of the normal red. She took a seat near the back and by the window, placing her case beside her chair. She then stared through the window outside, thinking about the good old days where she would go through the sky using the Fly Card, or sparring with Meilin after becoming friends using the Fight Card, or creating odd looking photographs with Madison using the Power Card.
“Hey Sakura!” She suddenly snapped out of her daydream to see Madison walking into the room, wearing the same uniform and carrying the same case. She sat down beside Sakura and smiled. “How’s it going?” she asked. Sakura sighed to herself and frowned as she looked down at her necklace, which was really the Key of Star. “Well Madison, I miss the old days where we went capturing Clow Cards, then using them as Sakura Cards. Life wasn’t boring then, and I was special because of my abilities, even though no one knew about them.” Madison smiled then nodded. “I agree. I’m just glad at by the end we were all getting along, unlike near the beginning where you had to compete against Li and Meilin. Too bad she had to move back to Hong Kong though.” “Yeah. I’m glad we got all the cards too, but at the same time it means I’m not a CardCaptor anymore. At least I still have volley-ball to play.” “And at least Li has soccer, and I have the CPC.”
Suddenly there was a knock on the desk at the front as the teacher was tapping it with his pointer. Everyone turned around, sat down, and pulled out their books as they were getting ready for another day. As he looked around, he turned his attention to the desk in front of Sakura. “Where is Li Showron?” Sakura looked to the desk then out of the window. “Where is he? He’s usually one of the first to arrive . . .” “I’m here!”
Everyone suddenly looked toward the door to see Li leaning against the frame, trying to catch his breath. He wore a white shirt with a light blue shirt unbuttoned on top. He as well wore a black tie, navy blue pants, and black shoes. On the blue shirt was a shield like design with a gold cross on a darker blue background. Like Sakura and Madison, his hair hasn’t changed either. He then stood straight up and walked into the classroom, taking his seat in front of Sakura. She tapped him on the shoulder and he turned around. “Where were you Li?” “I slept in, basically my alarm clock is busted right now and I have to buy a new one. Why? Were you worried about me Sakura?” “What? I was a little because you’re one of my friends.” Oh, okay then.” Li turned around as the teacher began his lesson, disappointed that she didn’t miss him that much. He nor Sakura didn’t notice Madison giggling to herself after seeing the two talk. Sakura just quietly scolded herself for missing another chance to tell him her true feelings.
The day went on like normal, with Li not paying too much attention in English Class, and with the three eating lunch with their group of friends. However, after lunch during Math Class, Sakura suddenly began to feel a little tired. She tried to fight it off, but she found her vision was blurring as she was trying to copy the questions off the board. Li looked over at her and frowned. “Are you okay Sakura?” She looked up at him and smiled. “Yeah, I’m okay. Just a little tired.” He nodded then turned back to the board and continued to copy the questions. Sakura turned back to the board as well, only she yawned, then placed her head on the desk, drifting off to sleep.
It was black at first, but then her sight began to refocus. She saw herself at the base of radio tower, but standing closer to it was a strange girl wearing an odd battle costume. All around her were these circular objects bouncing up and down. “Who is that?” She saw the girl grab one of them and look before tossing it up, shooting it afterward with an arrow. The object shattered and a great deal of vines appeared and headed for Sakura. She was caught by the vines and they wrapped around her, then lifted her into the air. The girl just stood and watched, but then the vines suddenly began to tighten. Sakura felt the pain and tried to struggle, but she was trapped.
Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice calling her name. She listened and realized it was Li. The situation disappeared, as well did the girl and the objects. She lifted her head to see Li shaking her shoulder to wake her up. “Sakura! Class just ended and it’s time to go home.” “Really? Oh no! Did the teacher know I was asleep?” “No, he didn’t notice. He left when the others did so he didn’t have time to see that you were sleeping.” “Thank goodness.” She stood up and began placing her things into her case, then looked around. “Where’s Madison?” “She had to go to a doctor’s appointment, but she said she would try and stop by your house later.” “Thanks.” She then closed the case and the two left the classroom to head down the hall. They left the school then began walking toward Sakura’s house. “You know, you falling asleep like that brought back memories of the Sleep Card. It made me think about how much I miss being a CardCaptor.” “I was telling Madison about that this morning. I always hope each morning that Kero would tell us that he missed a card and it was running amok or something. But of course, he would always tell me that we have all the cards, and that we shouldn’t worry. He thinks I’m glad . . .but I’m not in a way, and you know what I mean.” “Yeah. At first the only reason I stayed here was to get the Clow Cards, but now I’ve got a different reason for staying.” “What’s that Li?” The two suddenly stopped and Li’s face turns red. He panics then turns away quickly. “Friends.” Sakura frowned then looked down at the ground. She kicked a pebble down the street and crossed her arms in front of her. “Oh . . .okay.” The two then continued walking in total silence, then Sakura smiled. “So, how long did you mom say you stay here in Reidenton?” “She said I can stay until I finish high school if I want.” “That’s so cool.” “Yeah, it is. It’s pretty boring at home, where as here things seem to always happen.” “Too bad nothing will happen involving the Sakura Cards . . .”
The two stopped in front of Sakura’s house, then Li waved good-bye as she headed up the driveway to the door. She turned to wave back, then headed inside the house. He stood there for a moment staring at the house, then began walking down the sidewalk toward his home. “When am I going to be able to tell her how I feel. . .”
The door slammed shut as Sakura removed her shoes and placed them by the door. She then noticed her father and brother weren’t home yet, so she decided to go upstairs and see how Kero was doing before they got home. She climbed the stairs and opened the door. On her pillow she saw Kero curled up and sleeping quietly, so she tried to be as quiet as she could. She placed her case on the floor and sat down at her desk. After a few minutes, she got bored so she opened a drawer in her desk, pulling out the Sakura Book. She opened it and began placing the cards on the table in the same pattern she used to discover the Mirror Card. She cut the deck into three piles and placed them vertically. She then chanted what she was supposed to as she cut the middle pile into three piles. She then began flipping the cards one by one. The top card she saw was the Wood Card, while the bottom was the Shadow Card. In the middle, she saw the left card was Dream, then Power, and finally Twin. She studied the cards carefully then began thinking of the possibility. “Okay, Shadow at the bottom means a mysterious person, and the three cards in the centre tell of the person. Dream means they were in a dream . . .Power means they have powers either of strength or magic . . .then Twin means someone similar to me . . .but what does Wood mean in this?” She turned to look toward Kero who was still sleeping, so she decided to wake him up and ask him what Wood meant. She opened up a container of pudding and held it near him. He sniffed it then slowly woke up. Kero looked around for a little bit then became excited when he saw what Sakura had for him. “PUDDING!” He rose up into the air and followed Sakura over to the desk, where she sat down and placed the pudding cup on the surface. He landed beside it and began eating. “Thank you so much Sakura! I was just dreaming about pudding!” “That’s not the reason I woke you up Kero.”
He looked up, pudding smeared all around his mouth, and looked at her totally confused. “Then why?” She closed her eyes and frowned. “I can tell some of what these cards are saying. Shadow means a mysterious person, Dream means they appeared in one or more of my dreams, Power and Twin combined means they are like me with powers and abilities. But I’m confused as to the meaning of the Wood Card.” Kero studied the cards and then crossed his arms as he rose up and began floating over them. “Well, you’ve got the meaning so far right. A mysterious person with similar powers that has appeared in your dreams . . .I don’t know how Wood fits into it . . .but since it deals with a real person which we don’t know anything about, you have to draw one more card. It will give one more piece of information. Take the deck with the Shadow Card, but leave Shadow where it is. Shuffle the deck, cut it, and remove the middle card.” Sakura nodded as she removed the Shadow Card. “Alright.” She did as Kero instructed her, and cut the deck into two piles. “Now take the card off of the left deck, and place it face down. Using your left hand, place the right pile back on the left, then place the solitary card on top.” She did what she was told, placing the lone card by itself. She then took the right deck and placed it back on the left. “Now what?” “Now, take the Shadow Card and place it under the space between Power and Twin. Slide the other card under the space between Dream and Power, and flip!” She did as she was told, sliding the Shadow over and sliding the solo card over. she then flipped it quickly to see it was the Little Card. Kero gasped and Sakura looked up at his shocked face. “What does the Little Card mean here?” Kero frowned and looked at Sakura with serious eyes. “It means that whoever this person is will be here soon . . .and there will be some connection with Wood, only I don’t know what the connection is. You better call Li and Madison. They might know.”
Sakura nodded then called up Madison first. Her mother told her that she was still at the doctor’s, but would stop by Sakura’s house on the way home. She hung up the phone and just before she was about to call Li, the door opened. Kero froze in place to look like a stuffed animal right before Tori poked his head into the room.
“Hey Squirt. Dad called and said he’ll be home in an hour. He also asked if Madison was here.” Sakura suddenly panicked, but managed to keep it to herself. She smiled then looked to Tori. “She isn’t here yet, but she’s stopping by on her way home from the doctor.” “Okay then Squirt.” He suddenly looked over to the desk where he saw the Clow Cards. He walked in and looked at each one of them. “Hey, where did you get this weird looking tarot cards?” Sakura panicked again then quickly thought to herself as she came up with a good explanation. “Don’t you remember Tori? Dad gave me these cards for my birthday a couple of years ago.” “Hmm, okay then, whatever you say Squirt.” He frowned the exited the room. Sakura and Kero sighed with relief as they escaped from telling him the truth. Sakura then picked up the phone again and dialled Li’s phone number. “Hello?” “Li? This is Sakura. You have got to hear this.” “What’s wrong? Something up? Did a Clow Card escape?” “No . . .but the cards do have something to do with this.” “Go on then. What happened?” “Well, you better come over, that way I can tell you and Madison at the same time. Dad won’t mind me having two people over.” “Okay.” She then disconnected and placed the phone back down on the table. She then went over to her bed and laid down, staring at the ceiling for a long time before Kero flew over. He frowned as he looked back at the cards on the desk. “I just wish we could figure out what Wood means.” “Same here, but maybe Madison and Li can figure it out.” “Maybe.”
The two waited for a little while, when Sakura’s dad, Aiden Avalon, poked his head through the door. He closed his eyes and smiled. “I have two presents here for you Sakura. They’re both outside the door.” “Presents?” Sakura smiled and leaped up from the bed, looking out the door to see Madison and Li standing there with her father. She invited them in while Aiden went downstairs to start supper while the three stayed in Sakura’s room. Kero came back to life and then sat down on the desk. “So what’s this about the cards Sakura?” “Well, look at the cards on the desk. They say something about a mysterious person with powers and abilities like mine . . .possibly showing up sometime soon. We just don’t know how Wood is connected to what the cards are saying.” Li leaned over Sakura’s shoulder and studies the cards carefully. “Well, I’ll guess that seeing as Wood is at the top of the formation . . .maybe something will happen involving whatever the card means before this person appears.” “I wonder what would happen which involves Wood?” “Guess the only thing we can do is wait and see if anything happens.” “Madison is right . . .there isn’t much we can do.” Sakura looked at Li and suddenly smiled. He looked at her totally puzzled. “Why are you so happy Sakura?” “Something exciting just might be starting again, which is exactly what we’ve been hoping for lately, right Li?” “Yeah, that’s right.”
Later everyone sat around the table for supper. Li just finished talking to Waye on the phone then sat down beside Sakura. Aiden served lasagna then sat down, and they all started to eat. “So how was school today?” “Pretty good, but I think I’m going to go to bed a little early tonight. I almost fell asleep in Math Class.” “How about you Tori?” “There’s this girl who I ran into on the way home. She says she goes to the high school, 11th grade I think she’s in. Don’t know much about this place because she just moved here from Egypt. I’m going to show her around town tomorrow night.” “This is great lasagna Mr. Avalon!” “Well, looks like Tori’s starting to get a crush on this mysterious girl.” “Don’t start Squirt . . .” “Both of you settle down. I asked you in the past to be nicer to each other.” “Sorry Dad.” “Thank you. So Madison, hows the media club?” “Pretty good. We’re about to film a short movie.” “That sounds like it should be fun. How are you doing in school Li?” “Pretty good. I have a soccer game on Sunday.” “We should go and watch.” “Sounds like fun!”
Later while Tori helped Aiden with the dishes, Sakura, Madison, and Li were sitting outside on the front steps looking at the sky. “I’ve been thinking . . .maybe I’ll send my ceremonial robes back home . . .they’ll be less likely to get ruined.” “But what if you needed them?” “I would just get my mother to send them back.” “Okay . . .Madison, you should keep the costumes ready incase something does happen.” “No problem Sakura.” Sakura then laid backward on the porch and looked up at the stars in the sky. “I can’t get the Wood Card out of my mind . . .what does it mean?” “At least we’re getting closer . . .an event happening first which deals with it’s meaning seems logical.” “Yeah . . .well, I should get home before Mom starts to worry.” “And I should get some sleep as well.” “Same here. Good night Madison. Good night Sakura.” The two smiled and walked off, going in different directions to get to their homes. Sakura watched as they leaved, then yawned and stretched out her right arm. She then rose from the porch and headed into the house.
Later, Sakura was sleeping in bed, with Kero curled up beside her head on the pillow. Her eyes were squeezed together and she was frowning as she was having another dream. She was at the base of the tower again with the girl and the mysterious objects. This time however, the girl turned to face her. Sakura could not see the top half of her body, but she saw a finger point to her. “Get out of here now! You’re in great danger!” Sakura gasped as she began backing away from the girl, getting closer to a dark alley. Suddenly, she was once again ensnared by the same vines as before. They started to tighten the grip once again, and this time the girl rushed over. One of the vines swung at her knocking her out of sight. Sakura gasped, but then cried out as the vines became tighter. She tried to summon her Sealing Wand, but the vines grabbed it and tossed it aside. She then passed out from the lack of circulation.
“Sakura wake up! It’s time for school!”
She suddenly opened her eyes to see Aiden in her room. She sat up and stretched out her arms. “Sorry about that Dad.” “It’s okay. You better start getting ready or you’ll miss Li walking by.” “Oh yeah!” She then leaped out of bed and ran out of the room to get changed.
Later, she, Li, and Madison sat in their normal places inside the classroom. Sakura had just finished telling them about her strange dream. “Wow, that sounds pretty freaky Sakura.” “I know, but the strangest part was it was that girl again. I couldn’t see her face though, and she tried to save me from the vines.” “Weird . . .and you weren’t able to use your wand either?” “No, not at all. This is getting creepy. The entire adventure two years ago started out with strange dreams as well.” “Freaky . . .say, I gotta take my robes to the post office to mail to my Mom later. You two wanna come?” “Sure.” “Li, are you sure you want to send the robes back home? Especially with this possible new person coming around with powers like mine?” “Look, I already told you Sakura, I’ll just ask Mom to send them back if we need to.” “Okay, sorry. I’m just making sure that you’re absolutely sure about this.” “Thanks for the concern Sakura.” “No problem, that’s what friends are for right?” “Yeah.” As the teacher called out he was starting the day’s lesson, Li turned around and Madison faced the board. Sakura did the same, but she sighed to herself, thinking she would like to be more than friends, as did Li. The day then went by slowly, and at the end, they gathered around Li’s locker, after they helped clean up the school, and waited as he grabbed a large box. The three then headed down the stairs and down the street toward the post office as the sun began to set. “I’m really going to miss these robes . . .” “I”m going to miss the CardCaptoring . . .but at least you got the Clow Cards which remained after I made my Sakura Cards.” “I’m going to miss making the battle costumes and video taping all of our adventures . . .” “Speaking of that, at least we have those to watch if we ever get depressed over it.”
As they drew closer to the radio tower, a dark shadow was watching them from an alley. It then leaped up onto the roof then jumped from building to building.
Suddenly, the three stopped and Li opened the box. Sakura kneeled down beside him totally puzzled. “Something wrong Li?” “I just wanted to make sure I didn’t forget anything.” He sighed, then removed the hat from the box, staring at it for the longest time before Sakura tapped on his shoulder. He snapped out of the trance then looked at the two, still holding the hat. “I’m starting to have second thoughts. What if Sakura’s right and something comes to get us? I won’t have my sword here to summon the cards I was given.” “We can’t make you change your mind you know.” “Yeah Li, you’ve got to make this decision on your own.” “You’re right Sakura, but which decision is the right one . . .”
Suddenly there was a flash of light as one of the jewels on the side of the hat began to glow. The light became a light green and it formed a beam which shot upward into the sky. The three gasped and Li dropped the hat to the ground, causing the jewel to fall out and bounce a few feet before landing on the flat side. The three then slowly walked over to it, and Sakura kneeled down. She picked it up and held the jewel in her hand. “What do you think that was about?” “Honestly, I had no idea the jewel could shoot out that kind of light.”
Just then, the jewel started to glow again and a barrage of beams shot out in all directions. Sakura was forced to drop the jewel from shock, and it rolled away before landing on it’s flat side. However, when it became immobile, it came to life and hundreds of vines shot out and headed for the three. They began running away, but Madison tripped over a raised piece of concrete and she fell to the ground. As she rose from the ground, the vines ensnared her and slowly lifted her off of the ground. “Sakura! Li!” The two spun around to see Madison struggling to free herself from the vines, which were still coming at the two. Li leaped backwards and landed beside the box, removing from it his ceremonial sword. As the vines sprang forward, he leaped up and slashed at them As Sakura ran, she had no idea that the key had broken from its chain, and was now laying on the ground. She became trapped against the wall, but as the vines sprang forward at her, Li leaped up and down to land in front of her. He began slashing at the vines, but one of them grabbed and pulled away his sword. He cried out and tried to retrieve it, but he was then suddenly ensnared like Madison. His arms were pulled out to the side and the vines wrapped around his waist and chest as he was lifted into the air as well. Sakura cried out and tried to save him, but he was pulled out of reach. “Li! Don’t worry! I’ll get you and Madison down from there!” “Sakura! You can’t do anything without your key! You dropped it and you’ve got to get it before the vines get you too!” “Okay!” She looked around quickly and then saw the key near where the vines had originated from. Knowing the risk, but as well knowing her friends were counting on her, she rushed forward then dove toward her talisman, barely avoiding being snagged by the vines as well. She grabbed the key then rolled a few seconds before rising up. She then held the key in front of her and it began to levitate. She closed her eyes and then breathed deeply before starting her incantation.
“Key of Star . . .power of magic . . .power of-”
She was suddenly cut off in the middle of her chant as the vines grabbed her by the feet and lifted her into the air. She was then turned so her back was facing the ground as the vines wrapped around her, pinning her arms to her sides. She struggled, but realized she still had they key. She closed her eyes and continued the incantation.
      “ . . .power of light . . .surrender the wand . . .the force-”
She was once again cut off as the vine lashed out and wrapped around her mouth. Another vine suddenly reached up and snatched the key from her hand. She widen her eyes with fright as it now had her key and Li’s sword. The three continued to struggle, but suddenly to their shock they felt the vines tightening around them. As they constricted, they cried out from the pain. Li looked to the two and then cried out again from a sudden squeeze. “Come on you two, hang on! We’ll get out of this somehow!” “I sure hope you’re right Li!” “We have before Madison, and we will again!” He suddenly cried out as the vines tightened again.
Suddenly, another beam of light appeared. However, it slowly lowered toward the ground and it then took on the form of what appeared to be a human. She wore a dark green short shirt with no sleeves, and a dark green skirt which stopped halfway up past her knees. On her feet were dark green, high heeled boots which stopped at her knees. On her hands were fingerless gloves of the same colour. Pointed ears stuck out of the vines made up her hair, and her eyes were dark green. Her skin however, was light green. She walked up to the three and smiled. They suddenly started to go limp as the vines continued to tighten, causing the circulation to slow down. Madison suddenly passed out and went totally limp, while Li struggled to stay conscious. The woman walked up to Madison and looked up at her face. She frowned then turned to Sakura and Li, lowering her gaze to the ground and closing her eyes.
Suddenly, there was an echo in the distance as Sakura opened her eyes and looked up at the buildings. She managed to make out what sounded like a strange incantation.
“Lock of Kayo . . .Key of Syona . . .forces of good . . .surrender the bow . . .surrender the might . . .so I may fight!”
There was suddenly a flash of light which lasted a few moments before disappearing. The woman looked up toward one of the buildings with a look of concern and worry on her face. The voice then spoke aloud again as a small object, reflecting light, was tossed into the air.
      “Shatter and dispel!”
The object suddenly shattered and turned into tiny sparkles of red light which were caught by the wind and carried down to the street. They then massed together to create a firebird, which screeched up to the sky. It then opened it’s beak and breathed a wave of fire which attacked the vines. They were burnt, allowing Sakura, Li, and Madison to fall. Suddenly, a shadowed figure leaped down from one of the buildings and grabbed Madison before she hit the ground. The two landed, and the being placed Madison on her back before standing up. She then turned around and Sakura gasped. The girl had brown hair with blond bangs, but her eyes were hidden by an eye mask, with a blue outline and white where the eyes would be. She wore a sky blue battle costume, with slits stopping at the top of her legs. On her feet she wore black high heeled boots with gold designs all over the material. The sleeves of her costume stopped at her elbows, where there was a light blue, metallic bracelet encrusted with small circular emeralds and sapphires. Her collar was of the same fashion, and she wore a purple shirt underneath for the sleeves could be seen. On the lower part of her arms were gauntlets which stopped to the wrist, with the same designs that were found on her boots. Around her waist was a large black belt, with a large circular buckle, incrusted with two circular emeralds and two circular sapphires. The slits had a purple outline with gold designs, and a rainbow coloured stripe going diagonally from right to left. Li looked at the girl, then back at Sakura who looked totally shocked. “What’s wrong Sakura? You look as if you’ve seen a ghost.” “Li, you’re not going to believe this but . . .that’s the girl from my dream!” “You’re kidding!” “No!”
The girl gripped her crossbow, then pointed down the street. She then pointed to Madison, then looked back at the two. “Get out of here now! You’re in great danger if you stay!” Sakura gasped, knowing the dream was starting to unfold slowly. She then shook her head to regain her senses, then looked over at the girl. “No way! This could be a card and we’re not leaving until it’s captured!” “You don’t understand! This isn’t a Clow Card!” “How do you know about the Clow Cards?” “This isn’t the time to explain why. Right now I have to seal the Amazon Gem before it hurts someone! Get your friend to safety!” “Fine!” Sakura and Li then ran over and slowly picked up Madison. They both then got her on his back, then the two ran off toward the street corner. The girl smiled then turned back to the woman, who was not pleased. She raised a hand and sent a barrage of vines flying at her. The girl leaped up into the air, missing the vines, then landed on the pavement. She then grabbed the crossbow with both hands and fired three arrows. They were made of a light blue light, and they soared across the sidewalk until they hit the woman. She stumbled backwards, then looked back up to glare at the girl. Waving her hands, the vines came back to life and struck the girl from behind, causing her to become trapped. Then more vines appeared from out of no where and wrapped around her from the front. The girl began struggling, then looked up at the woman who was grinning. “You don’t want to be sealed do you? I have no choice, unless you want catastrophe to strike the world. Then what would you do?” The woman crossed her arms and frowned, trying to think about the question.
Sakura and Li watched as the situation unfolded, when suddenly Madison awoke from her quick coma. She rose from the ground and looked around the corner as well. “What’s going on over there?” “Madison!” “There’s some girl fighting that woman who attacked us.” “Who’s winning?” “The woman. Take a look.” Madison peered around the corner and saw that the girl was still trapped in the vines. She was struggling to free herself. “Fire, attack the woman!” The firebird reappeared and flew down toward her, but the woman seemed to anticipate the move. She waved a hand and a large dome was created from the vines, blocking out the firebird. It stopped, then began breathing fire on the structure. Sakura gasped then summoned her Sealing Wand. “Key of Star . . .Power of Magic . . .Power of Light . . .surrender the wand . . .the force ignite. Release!” Streams of energy appeared and swirled around her. At the same time other streams were flowing into the key as it spun around in mid air. It then began to extend. Sakura grabbed the mid-section then twirled it around until it was at full size. She looked back down the street then at Li and Madison. “Stay here. I’m going to go help that girl!” “What if it’s a trap to take all the cards!?” “She saved us Li. I have to return the favour!” She then rushed off down the street toward the dome. She stopped in front of it and watched as the firebird continued its attempts to burn it down. She decided to try and help, and she knew which card would be perfect for the situation.
“Sword Card . . .” She held it in front of her with her eyes closed, and turned the image outward to face away from her. She then tossed it forward and then began twirling the wand. “Grant your powers to this wand!” She finished twirling as the card stopped in front of her. She raised the wand above her head, then brought it down, causing the point to slam against the card’s image. “Sword Card! Release and dispel!” Waves of energy and light appeared and travelled outward as she held the position. Dark blue light suddenly emerged from the card, swirling all around her. She held the Sealing Wand to the sky, causing the energy to gather and engulf it. It then transformed into a sword, and she brought it down to hold it in front of her with both hands. She then leaped up and slashed at the dome three times, causing a section of it to fall to the ground and disappear. Just then, the rest of the dome seemed to shatter and disappear, leaving the woman and the girl out in the open. Sakura knew what she had to do, so she rushed forward and leaped into the air. She brought down her blade once again, this time cutting through the vines which ensnared the girl. She fell backwards as she was freed, and Sakura landed on her feet. The woman became very angry in seeing Sakura slash at her vines. She held her hand out and caused another storm of vines to appear from above. This time, the girl rushed forward and pushed Sakura out of the way. They both landed on the ground, and the woman became furious. The two stood up, and then the girl looked back toward the woman who was summoning more vines. “Fire, attack her now!” The bird agreed then breathed a wave of fire at the woman. She was hit hard, thus causing her to fall onto her knees. The girl smiled then held up the crossbow so it looked like she was going to fire. “Amazon Gem! Return to your power confined!” She fired a white light shaped like an arrow, which bursted in front of the woman and surrounded her. She then became a mass of energy as well, thus allowing her to be pulled into the white light. Both disappeared, leaving behind the jewel that released the force. It dropped to the ground, then bounced once toward the girl. She caught it and examined it. It had a green background, and the image was that of a frame of vines surrounding the woman. The girl smiled then began to walk away. “Wait!”
The girl stopped and turned back around. Sakura stood there holding her sword which was transforming back into the Sealing Wand, while Li and Madison ran over and stopped on both sides of her. The three than faced off against the girl, who smiled and grasped the jewel. “What would you like?” “We want answers. Who are you?” “And what are those jewels?” “Where do you come from and how do you know about the Clow Cards?” “I cannot say at this time.” “Can’t, or won’t?” “Can’t. It is not yet time to reveal the answers, especially not my identity. However, you may know this . . .I am not a foe, I am an ally. You don’t have to fear me or my powers.” “Okay . . .” “We will meet again, so long as my mission continues to call me to the fight.” She smiled then turned around to walk down the street a few metres before leaping up onto one of the buildings, then leaping once again to the other buildings until she was out of sight. The three watched as she vanished, then looked back at each other. “Now that was weird.” “That’s what I call a battle costume! Defiantly millennium, but at the same time the style is old fashioned. I love it!” “Oh Madison . . .” Li smiled, then looked back over to the box with his battle costume. He picked up the hat which was beside him, then walked over to the box to place it inside. Sakura and Madison walked over to stand beside him. He closed the box then picked it back up. “So have you decided what you’re going to do with your robes?” He closed his eyes and smiled, then began walking back in the direction they came from. Sakura and Madison looked at him, then at each other before realizing the answer. They smiled then ran off to catch up to him. “From what happened tonight, it just proves that we’re going to be thrown back into the fight. No way am I going to pass up what I’ve been wishing for!” “You said it Li.” “And I’ll get to make battle costumes again!” Madison jumped up into the air in joy, while Li chuckled, and Sakura giggled. “That’s our Madison!” They all laughed together then headed home, wondering what other strange events will happen in the future . . .

The Kayo Gems

“Each gem that is captured has a mystical seal . . .a new mystifying gem today we shall reveal . . .”
The Kayo box is dark blue with the image of a golden eagle on the lid. It suddenly flipped opened and tipped over, causing all the gems inside to spill out onto the ground. they all bounced around, but one landed and spun around on one side. it then fell over into it’s flat side to reveal the image to be a water serpent with two larges waves on both sides.
      “Water Gem!”
A giant snake screeches out as Li and Sakura face off against it. Li uses Thunder magic and Sakura uses the Thunder Card which keep it at bay. The girl uses the Fire Gem, but the firebird falls. Thunder attacks again and causes the snake to fall, letting the white arrow to fly and draw the snake into it’s gem form. Kero's Corner

“Hey there Card fans! It’s once again time for Kero’s corner and today’s segment talks about the new winter uniforms of the CardCaptor’s gang!”
Kero then turns on the small Tv to show a section of the episode where the three are walking toward the post office with Li’s parcel.
"The kids at Reidenton Elementary are now junior high school students, which of course calls for a new uniform.”
He then changes the channel to show a picture of Li and Sakura standing together modelling their uniforms.
"As you can see, the style has changed from their old uniforms, for the girls they now wear a shirt with a bow, plus a longer skirt. The guys have a shirt to wear unbuttoned over their white t-shirt. They also have to wear a tie and pants instead of shorts.”
Kero smiled then flies closer until his face is almost right up again the camera lens.
      “And now, check out this!”
He changes the channel once again to show a picture of their carrying case.
“This is their new book bags, which are now actually cases they carry beside them. Like their backpacks, you can fit a lot of books in here. Sakura can even carry her Sakura Book if she has to!”
Kero nods then sits down at the small table and pulls over some pudding. He then turns off the TV and looks back toward the camera.
“Personally, I like these new uniforms better, and so does Madison. There’s also of course a summer uniform, but I’ll talk about that another time. Now I gotta eat this before someone else does. See ya!”
He waves then starts eating the pudding as the scene fades out.
