I decided to attempt
a kit bash by trying to reduce the relatively "large" size of the Excelsior class
to something a little smaller, sort of in-between the Enterprise-A and -B for
size.
The bridge and impulse deflection crystal sections were cut and placed directly on top of the "new" saucer.
The nacelles were attached to the outer edges of the saucer.
The slight point in the bow
of the saucer was achieved by cutting a two-inch wide fore and aft slice out of the middle of the saucer and mating the two remaining pieces
together.
The primary ship colors are Camouflage Gray, Light Ghost Gray,
and Flat Gull Gray.
The secondary hull was cut at the widest point (the Enterprise-B "extensions") and the front half of the cut secondary hull was joined directly under the saucer, and the rear half joined to that piece (entire neck and mid-section omitted).
The
commissioning plaque for the USS Roswell, an Atlantis Class ship
commissioned in 2347 on the 400th anniversary of the infamous
crash at Roswell. The ship's registry is a combination of 'Area
51' and the year 1947. The quote, of course, is from the
X-Files.
