This is the second 1/2500 Enterprise-A, which I started painting while painting my destroyed USS Enterprise NCC-1701.

As that model had all of the different shades of green, blue and brown in the larger scale, I arbitrarily selected some of these colors for the smaller model, but without all the fine detail.

Although there are six individual model kits of each different starship Enterprise, each of these kits was produced at different times, and surprisingly, although produced by the same model company, none of theses kits were to the same scale.
In 1988, shortly after "STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION" debuted on TV, this started to change when AMT/ERTL produced the first three-piece Enterprise kit with the original USS Enterprise NCC-1701, its successor USS Enterprise NCC-1701-A and the newest Enterprise at the time, USS Enterprise
NCC-1701-D.
In 1999, shortly after the movie "STAR TREK: INSURRECTION" a second three-piece Enterprise kit was produced. Modeled in the same 1/2500 scale as the first, this model essentially completed the series by offering the other three
Enterprise's: NCC-1701-B, NCC-1701-C and NCC-1701-E.
