Do you have any idea how good it feels to be able to sleep in on a Saturday? I mean really sleep in, not just till 8:30 or something, I mean a nice 11:30. I never get to sleep in at home, the kids are always up watching cartoons really early, but when I'm here I can sleep till (I hate to say it), till the cows come home.
That is such an old saying, and I really hate to use it, but what else am I going to say? Till the cats come home? Whatever, back to my life...
We got up at 11:30 and had a nice brunch, then we went out to the pool, which is where we are now. Thank God for sun. It is so nice to be where it's quiet and not with a bunch of noisy kids.
Brooke and I were talking last night after everyone went to bed, and we thought up a little idea. What if the 4 of us rented an apartment or something? I mean it would be just us, no kids, no noise or anything. Then Brooke mentioned that her father had a little cottage at the back of their estate. Ok, it's not that little. It's a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage, with a full kitchen and dining room, a very formal living room, a rec room with a 52" TV and satellite, a pool table, and a pool. Not as big as the one at the main house but a pool none the less. We all talked about it over brunch, and asked her father about it right after we finished. He said it was a great idea, and since they almost never use it would be fine. He said that we could try it out during the summer, and if we liked it then we could have it for as long as we wanted. They would even supply a maid and cook, if we wanted. We thought that we could take care of it ourselves so we said no to that, and her parents both thought it would be a great way for us to learn responsibility. We don't see it that way, but whatever floats their boat.
This is gonna rock!! I have to tell my parents right away. I know we're only 16, but this will be a lot of fun, and I won't have to put up with a bunch of screaming kids in the morning and I can sleep in all I want! Mom and dad will probably agree, because then Jess and Lily can have separate rooms, and they won't have to build on as much. Well, I'm gonna head home to talk to them so I'll continue this tonight...
