¤What I'd Call A Normal Day¤

For most people a normal day is, well normal. You know the routine, get up, get dressed, breakfast if you really feel like it, go to school/work, come home, eat dinner, watch TV, call some friends, bed and repeat. For me however, it's not quite that organized. You'll see what I mean when you have finished this chapter, which will take you through what I call a normal day of my life.

This morning I got up to hear the usual sounds of Jess and Lily fighting over our bathroom. See I have my own small room which is joined to theirs by a small bathroom. Our house has 2 bathrooms, well 3 actually, but one is mom and dad's so we can't use it. One bathroom is the boys and the other is the girls. Somehow I don't think that this arrangement is fair because there are only 2 boys and there are 6 girls. However, mom has promised that this summer we are going to build an addition because the triplets are being potty trained and soon they'll need a bigger room as well, but I'll talk about that later on.

Anyway back to Jess and Lily... They get up every morning at 6 and fight over who gets the first shower, etc. I no longer need an alarm clock as they are loud enough to wake up the neighborhood. Ok maybe not, but you get my point. This is the reason that I have a shower before bed, not when I wake up. Lily usually wins this argument, and gloats over it the rest of the morning.

While Lily was in the shower, and I was finally dozing back to sleep, I heard a quiet knock on my door which was mom telling me not to stay in bed much longer, I don't know why she does that, I mean school doesn't start till 9, so why should I get up earlier than I have to? I say 7:30-8 is the proper time to get up.

Anyway, as usual I hear Rory get up and click on the TV in his room, and Troy telling him to turn it off. They share a room which works well, because they actually get along. Then mom starting breakfast, then all I hear is screaming. Typical, the triplets want mom, or breakfast, I don't know which. All I know is when one starts yelling in their gibberish baby talk it sets them all off. It's like the domino effect, and man is it annoying.

I now know that I'm never getting back to sleep so I crawl out of bed and down the stairs to get a glass of orange juice, when I trip over Troy's skateboard and land flat on my ass, this sets the triplets into a fit of giggles, and lucky me, Andi decides to decorate me with some nice cream of wheat. This happens every so often and I have come to the conclusion that if I ignore it maybe it'll all get better some day, but I'm still awaiting that glorious moment when I will no longer fear a big spoonful of cream of wheat landing in my lap on my freshly washed PJ pants.

I walk to the sink, grab a cloth and wipe the goo off. Out of the corner of my eye I catch mom trying not to laugh, but I ignore that as always. I tend to be a klutz, and I have never found it very funny, but everyone else always has and probably always will. So I continue to pour my juice and quickly escape to my room once again.

Just when I start to relax, I look up at my clock, 8:15. As usual (I'm getting fed up with saying that), I am going to be close to late. I still have to get my laundry ready for washing when I get home, but I guess it can wait. I grab some clean jeans and a tank top and quickly get dressed and put on my make-up, which unlike Lily, only takes me 2 minutes, then I'm on my way down the street to school with mom calling after me not to forget to pick up some coffee on the way home.

That's only the beginning however. Now that I'm at school, I have to try and remember what class I have first, make sure I did the homework, and get there before bell. Well, I managed to make it before bell, but I forgot to stop at my locker to get my books, and we're doing exam review so I have to go get them. Well, I'm back and I have a nice little 5 minute detention for forgetting my books, but oh well. I can deal.

It's lunch now, and I'm sitting here with Erin, Brooke, Marie, and a few other people, talking about our exam schedules. Exam time sucks because you can't really do much other than study, except for English, which is this story.

This is the only part of my day which is relatively normal. I mean, after this morning, I'd consider almost anything normal. Brooke's talking about going surfing this afternoon, but Marie and Erin want to go riding, so I think we're doing that. Yep, we are. Well we haven't gone riding in a week so it's about time we did. I'm going to ask Marie if after we can go to her place for a study session. Official exams start next week, so I want to spend part of this weekend studying. Brooke said we could pull an all-nighter at her place, so we're gonna do that instead of going to Marie's. Which is good because we can go swimming tomorrow morning in her pool. Well there goes the bell, off to another class.

It's 3 PM now, and I just got home, and I managed to forget mom's coffee so she just ran to the store to pick it up which leaves me in charge of the triplets, because Jess is at the library and Lily is at the mall getting a prom dress for each of us. Troy and Rory are at Sam's playing around with his new Playstation. Brooke just called and said they'll all be here in about 5 minutes to pick me up, and mom should be home by then so it all works out.

Brooke just drove in the drive-way so I'm getting ready to go. Mom got home a few minutes ago so the triplets are taken care of, and Rory just called and said Erin's mom said he and Troy could stay overnight. Everything is working out perfectly for once, I get a break from the kids and my parents and mom and dad get a break from everyone but the triplets, because Jess and Lily are going to a friends beach house for the weekend after they pick up our dresses and stuff.

I'm at Brooke's now, and we just finished studying for our exams next week. We're watching a movie right now, it's Scary Movie which is one of the greatest ever. We're gonna go to bed soon though because it's around 4 am and if we want to go swimming we're gonna need to sleep. Well that's a pretty normal day for me, it's not as bad as some and not as good as others but it wasn't too bad either so now you know what I have to go through living with my family and going to my school.
