A Circle of All Nations

The HEALING section includes information related to healing activities and programs, as well as ideas to inspire healing and spiritual development. Elder William Commanda is recognized internationally for his skill as a birch bark canoe maker. The image of the canoe is used in this section to symbolize the spiritual journey through life. His canoe travels accross the waters of healing, reaching out to the peoples of the world.

His special canoes profile family artwork, reflecting his message that creativity contributes to healing, spiritual growth and social regeneration.

Sweat Lodge, Pipe Ceremonies and other Healing ceremonies are offered at Grandfather Commanda’s Home During his Annual August Spiritual Gathering (Please check the Annual Spiritual Gathering Section in the Community Page)

A Healing Center At Victoria Island Consistent With The Seven Fires Prophecy (Over the past two years, Elder Commanda has been working steadily, though at an informal level, to develop a vision for a healing centre at Victoria Island, in collaboration with Algonquin communities and other interested parties.
