Fame Has It's Price

CHAPTER 2

Nick watched out the window for Brian. It was going to be nice to see his best friend again, but he was sure his weight was going to come up as an issue again.

Kevin was always scolding him like 'You have to stay in shape because if you don't, you'll tire on stage and put on shitty preformances.'  He didn't need any of that today. Looking in the mirror again, Nick ran back up stairs and put on a sweat shirt, even though the temperature was like 90 degrees. He ran down stairs just in time to see Brian pull into the drive way.

Nick threw open the door and Brian waved.

"Hey Brian. Need any help?" Nick asked, seeing Brain trying to get the beer and a bag with something in it at the same time.

"Sure. Why don't you take the beer. I'll get this stuff." Brian replied, happy to see his best friend. "What the hell are you wearing a sweat shirt for? It's 92 degrees out here!"

"I had the air conditioner up too high earlier and i haven't been warm since." Nick lied.

"Oh. Well, what do you want to do first?" Brian said as they walked into the house. Brian emidiatly noticed that the air conditioner wasn't on and it was as warm in the house as it was out side.

"I don't care. What is in the bag?" Nick put the case of beer down beside the fridge and began to put the bottles in. The extra ones he left in the box and left them on the counter.

"You didn't do a very good job of cleaning Nick." Brian commented with a laugh as walked into the tv room where there were a ton of chip bags all over the floor.

"Um, I just never got to this room. " Nick replied, then Brian emptied out his grocery bag, which was full of chips.

"Oh, well, do you want to play some playstation 2?" Brian asked.

"yeah!" Nick answered excitedly.

'Good. I must be wrong with thinking he's depressed.' Brian smiled to himself. He didn't know just how wrong he was.
