Chapter 20
The next morning, Brian and Leighanne walked down the hall where their friends and family were staying. They had had a very productive night in the honeymoon suit, and planned on staying a little longer, but they had to know what had happened between Nick and Alex the night before.
The two untied the rope from between Alex and Nick's door and Kevin's door. Almost as soon as they did, Kevin and Linna walked out of that room, hand in hand, not noticing Brian and Leighanne standing there. They both had a dreamy look on their face. Brian and Leighanne saw and after Kevin and Linna had gotten into the elevator, then burst out laughing.
"Maybe we made two happy couples last night." Leighanne laughed.
"Maybe."
"Do you think they actually revealed their feelings last night, Bri?" Leighanne asked.
"I don't know. There's only one way to find out. I mean, they didn't get the wake up call because Linna blocked their phone." Brian replied, just as AJ and Amanda walked out into the hall.
"Morning." AJ yawned as he and Amanda made their way down to the elevator.
"Well, here goes nothing." Brian sighed and lifted his fist to knock on the door.
Nick opened his eyes to the sound of a persistent knocking on the door. The first thing he saw was Alex.
"Morning Nick." She smiled and gave him a soft kiss.
"I really could get used to waking up to this again." Nick grinned. Just then, the annoying knocking resumed.
"Remember, we can't let anyone know yet." Alex whispered and then threw a pillow and blanket on the floor.
"Okay." Nick replied and gave Alex one last kiss before walking over to the door in his boxers and t-shirt. The first thing he did was look through the peep hole. "It's Bri and Leigh." Nick whispered with a smile.
"Even better." She giggled softly.
"Hello?" Nick asked, opening the door.
"Hey Frack. Did you sleep okay?" Brian asked.
"No. Life on the floor when you're 6'2'' does a job on the back." Nick yawned.
"Why didn't you sleep in the bed?" Leighanne questioned, acting like she didn't know.
"Well, the hotel had a mix up." Nick answered, just as Alex walked around the corner.
"What the hell are you doing here so early? We haven't gotten our wake up call yet." Alex whined.
"You should have." Leighanne mentioned.
"I think Jared or Darren was playing a joke on us. Our phone was blocked and the door was stuck." Nick told them them.
"Wouldn't AJ or Amanda open the door for you?" Brian questioned.
"No. Every time we tried to get them to hear us, they were, um, a little busy." Alex laughed and leaned up against the wall.
"So, let me get this straight. You two were stuck in this room and no one heard you?" Brian said. Alex and Nick just nodded. "What the hell did you do all night?"
"Watched TV, talked, and then we went to sleep." Nick shrugged.
"Well, we have to pack. Thank for getting us up. See ya on the bus." Alex yawned.
"Yup. Later you two." Leighanne said and her and Brian left. Nick closed the door and then turned to Alex and gave her a kiss.
They both put their ears to the door and heard Brian and Leighanne talking.
"Why didn't it work? It was a fool proof plan to get them back together. And we have to tell them before they go put the blame on Darren and Jared." Brian said, unaware that Nick and Alex were listening.
"I know. It just seemed logical that they would confess to each other about still loving each other, then get back together." Leighanne pouted.
Just then, Nick and Alex opened the door and scared the shit out of Brian and Leighanne.
"So, it was you two and not Jared and Darren." Nick accused.
"Well, um, ah.....Brian?" Leighanne stuttered.
"You see...........yeah." Brian confessed.
"Thought so. Wait here for a minute." Nick said then he and Alex quickly changed, then threw everything into any open bag. They walked back into the hall and saw Brian and Leighanne sitting on the floor across the hall.
"Now you two have some explaining to do." Alex said, putting her bag down.
"Well, I know that Nick, you still love Alex, and Leigh knows that Alex still loves Nick and we thought that you both wanted to get back together, so we decided to help." Brian whispered.
Nick and Alex still gave both of them stony glares.
"Sorry. We thought that we'd be helping. We really didn't really consider anything else, and yes everyone else was in on it. But it was all me and Brian's doing. Please don't get mad at Darren and Jared." Leighanne added.
Alex and Nick both sighed, then began to laugh. Brian and Leighanne watched in confusment as both Nick and Alex picked up a bag and then they began to walk down the hall.
"By the way." Nick said, looking over his shoulder. "Thanks."
"And keep your mouths shut." Alex smiled, then took Nick's hand into her own.
Both Brian and Leighanne's jaw dropped as they tried to make sense of what they just witnessed. Alex and Nick got onto the elevator, Brian and Leighanne still staring in their direction, and just as they doors closed, Nick leaned down and gave Alex a sweet kiss, shocking both the on lookers.
