Chapter 19
Nick walked out of the bathroom, and saw Alex sitting at the head of the bed watching MTV Europe.
"Up next. Backstreet Boys and Their single, I Want It That Way." The announcer said.
"NO! Turn it off!" Nick groaned and grabbed the remote from Alex and began flipping channels. He finally stopped at an old black and white movie.
"What is this we're watching?" Alex asked as Nick sat at the foot of the bed.
"Something I know I won't hear myself or someone I know on the soundtrack." Nick stated matter-of-factly.
Alex laughed then decided to watch the movie.
1/2 way through the movie, Nick got up, causing the bed to shift beneath Alex. She watched as he sat by the wall, under the window.
"Nick what's wrong?" Alex asked, scared of what was upsetting him.
"I just need to think. Serenity has a copy of my house key, and I'm hoping that she doesn't decide to take everything from my house. I called my mom and asked her to get the locks changed, but I am hoping that it didn't happen before they got changed." Nick sighed.
"That's a big thing in a serious relationship that you have to be aware of. But you never loved her, did you?" Alex said, surprising Nick.
"Well, um, you see . No." He finally spat out.
"And you were with her how long?" Alex questioned.
"13 months." He whispered.
"Why did you lie to yourself fore that long?"
"Well, I felt left out. Brian had Leighanne. AJ had Amanda. Kevin has his ex, Bethany. And Howie lived off one night stands."
"And you lied to Serenity for all those months about loving her?"
"Yah. Jeez. You saw what she was like. But I guess I only wanted to fit in, and not have the guys tease me about not having a girlfriend."
"They still tease you about that stuff?" Alex laughed.
"Yah." Nick blushed.
The two sat in silence, before Alex decided to do what she planned on doing.
She got up and began to walk towards Nick.
'Oh, shit. What is she doing? G-d. I hope I didn't sound like a freak to her. I probably did. She is probably happy I was able to move on sorta, like she has.' Nick thought to himself as Alex knelt down in front of him.
"Nick. I think you should have this back." Alex said, unclipping the necklace and then she put it Nick's hand. She felt tears, so she turned and began to walk away.
"I guess this means you really don't love me anymore, doesn't it Alex." Nick commented, noticing that it was the necklace he had given her.
She turned on a dime and looked at him.
"Only because you don't love me." She replied so much hurt in her eyes.
"Are you crazy?! Alex, I never stopped loving you." Nick said, standing up.
"You You didn't?" Alex questioned, sniffing up tears.
"No. Alex, the only reason why I got with Serenity was so that I could try and moving on like I thought you had long ago." Nick confessed.
"Nick. I've never wanted another guy besides you. I loved you so much, but thought you moved on." Alex answered then walked up to Nick.
"The only reason I came on this tour was so that I could be closer to you. Alexa, what you and I had was so special. The love we shared is the kind that you find in only one person." Nick poured his heart out.
"Oh, Nick. I was so scared that you didn't feel the same way." Alex broke down and wrapped her arms around Nick's chest.
"So was I Ally. So was i." Nick openly cried as he held Alex close. After they just held each other for a long time, Nick broke the silence.
"I think this looks best around your neck." Nick smiled then replaced Alex's locket around her neck.
"Do you think they'll get back together?" Linna asked Kevin as they sat in his room, talking.
"Probably. I mean, they were together for 3 years, and that was three years ago. Both are very hard at hiding feelings, so I am sure that they will." Kevin replied.
"So, that means your are the only single Backstreet Boy on tour." Linna laughed.
"Well, that could change." Kevin muttered under his breath.
"What was that Kev?" Linna questioned, with a slight laugh.
"Um, nothing." Kevin blushed.
"Sure Kevin. You can tell little old me." Linna grinned, sitting down beside him.
Kevin took a deep breath and sighed. "Or I can show you." He whispered and then leaned in and kissed Linna square on the lips.
After a moment, Linna pulled away, then whispered, "I guess there are no single Backstreet Boys on tour anymore." Linna grinned, then pushed Kevin backwards on the bed and turned the light off.
