Chapter 18
Later that day, Alex had gotten some sleep and now was up talking to the girls. Although she seemed to be into the conversations, Alex's mind was some where totally different.
"Hey, Alex. You seem to be a million miles away. What's wrong?" Alice said as all the girls sat around Alex.
"I miss him." Alex whispered through her silent tears.
"Well, you have a chance now. Go for it." Tanya suggested.
"But I was talking to him at the show last night and he didn't show any signs of liking me, let alone loving me. I'm just wasting my time." Alex sighed, then walked back to her bunk.
"This is more serious then I thought. I'm calling the guys to see how you know who is doing." Zoë whispered, then grabbed her cell and dialed Kevin's cell number.
"Hello?" He asked.
"Hey. Um, what's part 2 of the plan up to?" Zoë asked. Leighanne and Brian had called everyone last night with a plan. A plan that would get Alex and Nick back together. And it seemed now that it might actually work.
"Well, he's really happy for breaking up with you know who, but he is a little upset that part 1 isn't here. How's she doing?"
"Upset. She wasn't sick, just upset. Apparently they talked a lot at the show last night and he never mentioned anything about the past, and the she's thinking of giving up on him."
"No after what we do. So, if today's Thursday, two more nights." Kevin gave a short scheming chuckle.
Yeah. Gotta go. See ya, Kev."
"Bye, Zo."
It had been a hard few days for everyone to keep his or her mouths shut about the plan, but Saturday finally came.
Alex had moved back onto the singers bus the day after she had left.
"Did you call?" Leighanne asked, sitting in front of Brian.
"Yeah. Everything is going to be set up as soon as we get there, and I already cleared it with Jared and Darren. We will not get in shit for this. And the hotel knows."
"Good. So, did you tell everyone else what was going to happen?"
"Yup. Oh, and I did a little something extra for you and I." Brian grinned.
"And what would that be?"
"I got you and I the honeymoon suite." Brian smiled at Leighanne then wiggled his eyebrows at her.
"Ooh." Leighanne grinned and then gave Brian a kiss.
They got in the hotel and Jared and Darren began to hand out keys.
"Frick, I'm going to go change first, then I'll meet you at the gym." Nick said as he Brian and Leighanne walked upstairs, before everyone else.
"Maybe. I have to take a shower first." Brian said.
"Nu-unh. I get first shower, Littrell." Leighanne said.
"You had the last shower." Brian argued.
"Did not. You had one this morning. I had mine last night."
"But tonight's show has me all sweating and stinky."
"Fine then. Why don't we just take a shower together?" Leighanne laughed then ran a head.
"Maybe I'll pass you up on the gym thing." Brian stuttered. "Don't use all the hot water Leigh!" Brian yelled and then ran after his fiancée.
Nick sighed and then stopped at his room. 285. He ran the key through the lock and walked in. Only one bed. That just reminded him how very single he was, and how very much Alex didn't love him in return. He heard Howie and Kevin go into the 2 rooms across the hall, and AJ and Amanda go into the room next to him. Nick walked in and tossed his bag on the chair and then fell on the bed and drifted off to sleep.
Linna, Alex, Alice, Melanie, Ebony, Tatiana, Tanya, Zoë and Erin walked up the door as a group.
"Alex, you suck." Erin laughed as everyone compared room numbers.
"And why may that be?" Alex giggled.
"You get a single room." Everyone yelled at once.
"Sorry." Alex wined. "285. My room. See y'all later." Alex laughed, then slipped the key through the lock and walked in.
As soon as the door closed, AJ, Amanda, Kevin and Howie rushed out and quickly tied a rope around Alex and Nick's doorknob and ran it to the door across the hall and tied it to that doorknob. AJ locked the adjoining door between his and Alex & Nick's room. Linna did the final touch, and called to block their phone so that they couldn't call out for help.
Alex walked in and over to the bed, and she almost had a heart attack when she saw Nick asleep on the bed.
Nick, who wasn't asleep, rolled over to see who was in his room.
"What are you doing here?" They both said at the same time.
"This is my room. 285." Nick said.
"No. My room is 285." Alex contradicted him. "See. My card even says it." Alex held out her card for Nick to see.
Nick passed her his, and sure enough, they had the same card.
"Shit. There must have mix up of some sort." Nick picked up the phone and tried to call out to the front desk. "Dammit." He cursed, setting the phone back down.
"What?" Alex panicked.
"Someone blocked our phone." Nick sighed, then turned to exit the room.
"Don't tell me." Alex said sarcastically. She then walked over and tried to open the door.
"Shit. The door is stuck." Nick said angrily and ran his fingers through his short hair. "Maybe AJ and Amanda will let us out." Nick walked over and knocked on the connecting door.
"Ooh, AJ! MAKE ME CUM!!!!!!!!!" They both heard Amanda yell.
"Never mind Nick. It seems we're stuck sharing a room, so we might as well make the most of it." Alex sighed as Nick flopped down on the bed. "I'm going to take a shower. I'll be out soon if you want one."
"Sure." Nick replied, then turned on the TV.
He heard the bathroom door close, then the shower water start running. ' How am going to last with her in my room? I'll crack. Jeez. Who ever is behind this with pay dearly." Nick muttered to himself.
Alex walked out of the bathroom expecting to see no one. But there was Nick, waiting for the bathroom to be free.
"Sorry if I took too long." Alex apologized, and then Nick walked into the bathroom.
"It's okay." Nick replied.
"Okay." Alex said, then sat in front of the mirror and she began to French braid her hair. After she was done, Alex leaned back and stared at herself. The one thing that stood out was her locket.
"Why did this happen to me? I'm not going to last all night. Plus I have to figure out how we're going to sleep tonight. G-d. Maybe if I give him this back an tell him I don't want it, things might be better tonight." Alex told herself and then changed into her pajamas.
