Chapter 10

Alex knew that she had to make a decision and Darren was on the other line waiting for it.

"Okay. I'll do it. So, I'll see you in a week and a half." Alex sighed.

"Great. See ya Alex."

"Bye." Alex muttered then hung up the phone. As the phone was placed back on the receiver, Alex knew she had to call her cousin and ask for her advise and hope she would go on tour with them so that she could talk to her all the time. Rooting through her purse, Alex looked for the paper on which Leighanne had written her cell phone number. There it was sitting on the bottom of the purse was the paper. Carefully Alex dialed her cousins phone number and waited for an answer.

"Hello?" Leighanne asked.

"Hey, Leigh. It's Alex."

"Hey, Alex, what's up?"

"Um, did you hear that I am going on tour with the guys, or their going on tour with me, however you wanna put it."

"Yeah! I am going too, so that means we'll get to spend a lot more time together."

"Yeah. But it also means that I am gonna have to spend 3 months with Nick. I don't know if I can do that." Alex explained. "Remember, you promised not to tell anyone, not even Brian."

"I remember, and I see your point. But you didn't have to say yes. You could have rejected the offer."

"But I want to do this. I wanna spend time with you, and AJ. But I know that Nick has that new girl friend, I will just have to prove to him that I couldn't care less if he moved on or not."

"That's okay. You will only have to convince your heart about that. Alexa, listen I have to go. See you in a couple weeks?"

"Yup. Bye, Leighanne." Alex hung up that phone and began to cry. Reaching under her shirt, Alex pulled out the locket Nick gave her and took it off. This was the first time she had ever taken it off and looked at it.

"I still love him. Why do I feel so guilty about it? I wonder if he's ever thought about all this between us. If everytime I see him I just wanna reach out and cuddle him. What does he think of me now? That I am a slut? No one thought we would last. We proved them wrong. Maybe. Just maybe, on this tour something will happen between us and be a sign. If we ever have another chance or that I am wasting my time." Alex said, while dangling the locket in front of her face.

"Here, B-ROK!" AJ yelled as Nick tried to block the pass.

"This is not fair!" Brian exclaimed as Nick blocked the pass then scored. "How the hell did he get to be 6'2"? I liked it better when he was a little wuss. Unless he's on my team of course."

"Same here. He's not little Nicky anymore." AJ laughed, "Well, in most parts he's grown."

"Screw off Bone." Nick glared him down.

"Well, I have to get home. I'm expecting a long distance phone call. See y'all later." Howie called, then ran to his car.

"Yeah. Amanda is expecting a guy home in an hour and I hope it is supposed to be me." AJ laughed. "Meet up with you guys later."

AJ left and it was jus Brian and Nick at the basketball court.

"What are you doing tonight?" Nick asked as he and Brian walked towards Brian's house.

"I promised Leigh a night out before tour again. Sorry." Brian apologized.

"It's okay. I guess I should do something with Serenity. By the way, what happened to the co-headlining tour?" Nick asked.

"It got the okay. Didn't you get the call?"

"No. I wasn't home last night. Who is it with?"

"You seriously never got the call?"

"No. I was out. I had to think so I took the boat out."

"Oh. Um, well we had no say in it, and it kinda is with Alex." Nick stopped dead in his tracks and dropped his water bottle. Brian noticed that his face was considerably paler.

"You gotta be kidding." Nick said barley above a whisper.

"I'm sorry. I know how you feel about her. The thing is, is that she and AJ are best friends, I love her to death as a sister I never have, and Kev and Howie feel the same as I do. So, really you are the only one who disagreed" Brian explained.

"What am I gonna do? I have Serenity, but on tour she will figure something out about me and Alex, then tell Alex I still like her. Then I'll loose both them for good. I'll be laughed at. It's amazing. So many girls profess their love for me, hoping I will return it, and the one girl I want won't return my love. Nick sighed as they walked down the sidewalk.

"How d you know she doesn't love you in return? How do you know that she doesn't feel the same way?"

"Brian, don't get my hopes up. AJ was talking to her at the party and she told him she didn't. Plus you hear the rumors. She's linked to more guy celebrities then all 5 of us put together. And she always replies the same way. She doesn't have any one special in her heart right now." Nick said, a little upset.

"Okay. Well, see ya Frack." Brian called then into the house. Nick got into his car and began to drive back to Tampa. 2 hours later, he puled up into his driveway then went into the house. He got a can of Mountain Dew out of the fridge, then pressed play on the answering machine. The first message was the record company telling him about the tour. HE erased it, then waited for the second one. Unfortunately it was from Serenity.

"Hi honey, it's me. Where are you? Brian doesn't know and I need to talk to you. Well, I guess you heard about this tour. It's with that whore Alex." Nick erased it with out letting it play all the way through. That was one of the many things he didn't like about Serenity. She didn't like any other girl.

"Why do I put up with her?" Nick questioned.
