Materials:
One compass
One bar magnet.
| 1. Hold the compass away from the magnet. |
| 2. Notice where the arrow is pointing. |
| 3. Bring the compass close to the magnet. |
| 4. Find the bar magnet's NORTH POLE. |
| 5. Draw a diagram of the magnet and the compass showing how the
compass is pointing to the bar magnet's north pole. |
| 6. Do you think the bar magnet has a south pole? |
What did we learn from this?
1. That Magnets have a north pole.
2. Magnets have two sides.
3. Magnets must also have a south pole.
