Educating the
Global Citizen
Fairleigh Dickinson University provides resources for parents and teachers
who are learning/teaching a second language. Links are provided for a multitude
of French, Spanish and other language websites.
French
BBC
Education: Learn French Online: For
the beginner, BBC has focused on ten different topics. Select any one topic and
then you have the options for video, audio, and transcript. The audio files are
very good, video files are typical Internet files, and the transcript offers the
text version of what is said.

for Beginners: This site focuses on the French alphabet, grammar,
pronunciation, verbs, and vocabulary.
Listen
and Speak Some French: Using
RealPlayer, it is possible to hear introductory French greetings and questions
spoken here. The clarity of the audio files is excellent.
Mouvement
Francophone: Click on
"Les Pays Francophones" and there appears a list of countries where
French is spoken. Provided also are basic statistics about each country.
Paris in Pictures: This offers
a selection of famous places in Paris, France. The explanations of each are
written in French.
QUIA: French
Language Top Twenty Activities
A site that includes vocabulary, grammar, and games.
Visitons la
France: For the beginner, this site offers pictures of key achievements in
French culture. Also are audio files that focus on simple descriptions and the
use of adjectives that are opposites.
Vive la
Différence: For teacher and student alike, this site offers
graphics and audio files to practice introductory French. Vive la différence
also provide ideas and questions for discussion in French at three levels of
competency.
