Members A brief history of the Band:

Our story begins at college, lonely, lonely college. Two good friends far away from each other found that they missed being in a band and makin music. Having been in a several bands prior, Chris and Dave decided to start a new band- a great band! They decided they would decend upon the New Jersey scene in the summer of 2001.

Talk of the band started as early as October of 2000, yet the band was not nearly complete with only two members. They quickly and easily found a second guitarist in Chris' longtime friend- Mike.

As word of the band spread like wild-fire in the winter of 2000/2001 they still lacked a bass player. It wasn't until late that spring that they asked Pat to join the group. Pat's great lyrical and vocal talent came as an added bonus to the group.

In May of 2001, The Hightides were formed for the sole purpose of playing barbeques and making the most of the summer. They have been rockin the summer away- and sadly as fall aproaches they will once again go back to there distant colleges- but seeing as they had such a good time this summer they'll stay together play a few shows over the fall and then they'll really blow you away next winter!

Michael J. Cunningham - guitar.
bow-tie pimp, ping-pong hustla and hip-hop aficionado
Born and raised on the rough streets of red bank NJ, he somehow managed
to keep his babyface and innocent appearance from being hideously
tarnished by his rough-and-tumble youth.
His hobbies include water polo, scammin on doped out chikas and worms-
the computer game "not the butt dwelling kind"
The HighTides is Mikes second band- previously he played guitar in the
trio (sometimes quartet) of Backseat Driver.

"Are we shoving it in? Or are we pulling it out?"
"I was like, c'mon, c'mon, keep going! keep going!!!!"

Dizzy Cal - vocals/bass
lyrisist, pessimist,
due to his musical and oddish personality, his evenings resemble long
drawn-out scenes from Dancer in the Dark. He attends Villanova and is
currently majoring in partying. His previous musical endeavors include
a stint on the drums with High schoolers at CBA before moving to the
keys and more recently he comprised a full third of a four piece Jam-Band called
something clever.

"Hurry up! It's getting soft!"
"If you shove that thing in my face one more time, things are going to get sloppy. I mean... oh good god... did i just... oh no..."

Chris Irwin - smuggling, juggling, and ruggling are a few of Chris's alternate hobbies. He's a ladies man, witty, smashin' drummer with an appetite for destruction.

"I can't believe I fit it all in there."

Dave Rappaport - vocals/guitar
Dave spends most of his time in a cardboard box. We don't like to talk about him too much.

"I can hold it up here when I'm playing, but not if i'm just practicing because it hurts me"
Connie Chedward- Roadie Connie has been following the band since the get go.
