About our Troop!
Formed in 1995, our troop has been steadily growing in size and quality. Sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church of Clifton located on Elmwood Avenue, our meeting are held at the church from 7PM to 9PM every Thursday that school is in regular session.
The focus of the Boy Scouts of America in general, and our troop in particular has always been on the youths of today. We have alway striven to promote the growth of our youths from children into young men. To that end our Adult leadership has taken a hands off approach to leading the troop. Rather than stepping in and taking charge of the troop's opperation, we have always allowed the Scouts to govern themselves, and chooose their activities and events, with the adults standing by to offer knowledge, advice, and an unobtrusive watchful eye.
In general our troop tries to live up to the 'out' part of scouting, and does at least one trip or excursion per month. Aside from the usual hikes, camping events, and inter troop competitions, the scouts have undertaken trips to museums and science centers, Canoe trips on the Deleware, Deep Sea Fishing, and Sking to name a few.
