Galatasaray Spor Kulübü - İstanbul

Galatasaray became the first repeat champions. They won the first ever Turkish cup held this year as well and made the double. They also became the first club to score more than 100 goals in one season at the league scoring 105 goals in 42 games.
TFF made a change in the format of the championship. They introduced a two staged competition. At the first stage the clubs played group games in two groups with 11 team each. Top six in each group qualified to the Final Group of the second stage. The next three clubs qualified for the classification group of the second stage, which TFF called this as "Federasyon Kupası". The bottom two clubs in each group were relegated to 2.Lig which will start in 1963-64 season.

Galatasaray SK İstanbul

The first ever Turkish Cup was held this year. Previously there were cup style competitions for the amateur clubs, but this was the first for the professional clubs.
So far, only the results from the quarter finals and up are available. Hope to post all the scores later.

Galatasaray made the first double by winning the league and cup in the same year.
