UEFA NATIONS LEAGUE 2020/2021
UEFA made changes to the set-up of the leagues for the second edition.
The groups of A,B, and C leagues will have four nation in each of their four groups. This adds up to 48 nations.
D League will have only seven nations. They are split as four nations in Group 1 and three nation in Group 2.
The Championship and Promotions
Four group champions of A League will play PO matches to decide the 2020-2021 UEFA National League champion.
Four group champions of B league will be promoted to A League.
Four group champions of C league will be promoted to B League.
Two group champions of D league will be promoted to C League.
The Relegations
Four last placed nations of A League will be relegated to B League.
Four last placed nations of B League will be relegated to C League.
Two of the last four last placed nations of C League will be relegated to D League.
In order to decide the relegation, four nations will play double-legged PO matches with one other nation.
Two top group winners which didn't qualify at WC2022 Qualifiers will join ten WC2022 Qualifiers group seconds at WC2022 Qualifier PO matches. 3 of these 12 nations will then qualify to WC2022 Finals.
