Chapter 25
Brian's View
"What do you think?" I asked coming up behind Tiffany. She was still sitting on the ground staring at the blank TV. She turned around suddenly and looked up at me with a shocked look on her face.
"You let her off..." she said quietly. I just nodded my head.
"You said you had your own reasons for apologizing and letting her off..." she said.
I nodded my head again and said, "You made me think Tiffany. You always do and you always help me make the right choice. I thought about what you said about how she saved us and everything and you were right. She did save us from a lot of things like pain. She helped us a lot and I was being an idiot and just thinking about what bad things she has done in the past and not actually realizing what she did do for us. Like you said...she brought our babies back."
She looked up at me for a second and then a huge smile broke out onto her face. She scrambled to her feet and wrapped her arms around me kissing me softly.
"Thank you honey," she said hugging me tight. I hugged her close and said, "I did it so you wouldn't be mad at me anymore and so Leighanne could be let off."
"I was never really mad at you Bri," she said looking up at me.
"Then why weren't you talking to me?" I asked confused.
"I was upset, I wasn't exactly mad. What you did just made me completely upset. It wasn't like you to do that."
"I'm sorry sweetie," I said kissing her forehead.
"Thank you so much," she said. I smiled and hugged her again.
"Where's Leigh now?" she asked.
"I don't know, the last time I talked to her was at the Court House and that was because she came up to me and thanked me. We talked for a little bit. She said something about going to Cali to see her parents," I said. Tiffany nodded and then said, "Do you mind if I invite her over sometime?"
"Not at all," I grinned at her. She smiled and kissed me on the lips.
"You're a sweetheart," she said heading out of the living room.
"I know I am," I laughed lightly following right behind her. She was heading up the stairs when she stopped suddenly. I looked up at her questionably and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing is, I was just wondering, did the doctor call?" she asked.
"Yes," I said.
"What did he say?" she asked.
"A lot of things," I shrugged. I didn't want to tell her. I really didn't want to make her upset.
"Like what?"
"Tiffany lets just go up to our room and watch some movies OK? The kids are out doing their own thing so we have some time to ourselves," I suggested.
"Why won't you tell me?" she asked.
"It's nothing important," I said.
"Nothing important? Brian those are our kids! Anything about them is important!" she shrieked. I knew she thought what I was holding back was bad. Sure it was but she was making it seem like they died.
"Baby calm down," I said softly walking up the few steps that were in between us and wrapping my arms around her. "Calm down. They're all right OK? They're OK."
"They are?" she asked.
"Yes, they're going to be just fine," I said. Half of that was true. The doctors said they would probably be fine. That's PROBABLY. It's not for sure. I couldn't tell her the things he told me, not yet anyway. I just wanted her to be happy for at least one day.
"OK good, I was scared a minute there," she laughed lightly and kissed me on the cheek. I smiled at her and then started up the stairs again still worrying about what was going to happen to Michelle and Christian.
