Chapter 22

A Few Days Later 11:30 PM

Brian's View

"Brian...look at this," Tiffany said motioning for me to come over to the TV where she stood. I looked at her curiously from where I was sitting writing a song for a new album we were all going to record soon.

"What is it baby?" I asked. She just motioned for me to come over. I put my pen down and walked over to her. I put my hand on her back and looked at the TV.

"What is..."

"Shhh, listen," she said hushing me. I nodded and turned to the TV.

"We just received news that Leighanne Wallace, one of the kidnappers that kidnapped the three youngest children of the Littrell family, was spotted last night near Tallahassee Florida. A resident called the police when seeing Leighanne getting out of a black truck to retrieve a bag from the back. The resident reported seeing Courtney Littrell who is 6 years old in the passengers seat with a teddy bear hugged close to her. There was no sign of the other two babies, Brianna and Brian, Jr. Littrell. Once Leighanne picked up her bag she got back into the truck and took off down the road. Police have no trace of her yet but they are hunting right now as we speak. Police hope that they will find Leighanne soon and bring Brian and Tiffany Littrell's children back safely. Back to you John…" the reporter ended.

"Oh my gosh," I said under my breath.

"They're so close Brian, so close," Tiffany said softly. I looked down at her and turned her to face me. I put her head in my hands and kissed her forehead.

"Why can't we have them here with us?" she asked looking up at me.

"I don't know honey, I don't know," I said wrapping my arms around her waist and pulling her close to me. She wrapped her arms around my neck and hugged me tight.

"Do you really believe that things will go back to normal?" she asked quietly.

"I really hope so," I said. "I really hope so."

Leighanne's View

"We're almost there," I smiled at Courtney. Courtney squealed and said, "I can't wait to see Mommy and Daddy!"

"I bet they can't wait to see you three either," I said turning right. I was about two blocks away from their house.

"Will they remember me?" she asked looking up at me with big eyes.

"I'm sure they will," I laughed.

"I hope so! I want to hug them forever and ever and I don't want them to let me go. I missed them a lot Leigh, a whole lot! Daddy usually reads me stories at night and he likes to play house with me and everything! It's really fun Leigh! Lots of fun! My Mommy likes to do my hair and take me shopping to lots of places! Does your Mommy do that? My Mommy does it all the time! That's a lot of fun too!" she said excitedly. I laughed at her enthusiasm. She's so cute and talkative. I don't see how someone could hate her as much as Sara and Mandy do. I love her, who wouldn't?

"I have an idea Leigh! A good idea! Maybe my Mommy and Daddy can take you shopping with us! That would be fun! Wouldn't it Leigh? That would be lots of fun! We can play dolls too! You can get Malibu Barbie and I'll get prom Barbie and I got a lot of Kens so we can play with them too! Do you want to do that Leigh? Do you?" she asked smiling up at me with her eyes sparkling with joy.

I looked at her smiling face and wanted to cry. I knew I wouldn't be able to do those things with her. It just wasn't possible with the situation I was in but I just said, "That sounds like a lot of fun Sweetie."

"Yeah it does! We can do lots of stuff together Leigh! You're gonna be my bestest friend OK? Does that sound like fun?" she giggled.

I laughed lightly and said, "That sounds like a blast."

She smiled up at me and then looked out the window excitedly. I smiled slightly and then turned another corner. Soon enough I pulled up to the gates that led up to the house. The scene was all too familiar. Going through those gates and doing some kind of horrible thing, but this is different. What I'm doing isn't horrible, it's probably one of the best things I have done in my life.

"YAY! I know this Leigh! This is my house isn't it Leigh!?" Courtney squealed. Brian and Brianna giggled when she did this. I looked back at them and they were sitting there kicking their feet and waving their hands in the air giggling. I laughed and then said, "This is your house all right. Lets go see your Mommy and Daddy."

"Brian! Brianna! We get to see Mommy and Daddy!" Courtney exclaimed looking back at her brother and sister. I grinned widely and rolled down the window. I had the code memorized so I punched the numbers in and luckily the gates slowly began to open. Courtney unbuckled her seat belt and stood up in her seat looking out the windows with her mouth wide in awe. She sure was happy to be home.
I drove past the gates and up the driveway and parked in the front. I turned the car off and looked out the windshield to the house. Most of the lights were on and it didn't seem like anything was wrong. It seemed completely normal from the outside but on this inside…that's a whole different story. Inside that house a lot of pain and sadness stood and I was the cause of it. I was hoping tonight would end some of that pain and sadness.

I unlocked the doors and stepped out into the warm humid air. Courtney opened her door and jumped out onto the driveway. She was about to run up to the house but I grabbed her, "Not yet. Lets get your brother and sister out first OK?"

She nodded her head vigorously and said, "OK! Lets get them out fast. I really wanna see my Mommy and Daddy!"

"All right, come on," I said taking her hand.

Brian's View

Tiffany and I were on the couch in the living room just enjoying each others company and thinking about some things. Tiffany was laying down and her head was on my lap, I was playing with her hair and singing to her lightly. She's been crying for a while now and this was calming her down a bit.

"You feeling better baby?" I asked. She just nodded her head.

"Good," I said and then bent down and kissed her cheek. Just then the doorbell rang. I turned my head from the sudden noise and then looked down at Tiffany.

"I'll go get it," I said raising her head and then getting up. She sat up and ran her hands through her hair and then wiping some remaining tears away from her face. I walked out of the living room and to the front door. I opened it and was greeted my a little girl squealing and wrapping her arms around my legs, "DADDY DADDY! I missed you so much!"

I stumbled back shocked for a moment and then realized who it really was...it was Courtney.

"OH MY GOD! Courtney!" I exclaimed bending down and taking her head in my hands. I pushed the hair out of her face and kissed her forehead and wrapped my arms around her. I pulled her close and she wrapped her little arms around my neck and hugged me back. I closed my eyes tights as tears of happiness escaped my eyes. I rocked her back and forth kissing her head now and then, "Oh God, I missed you so much sweetie! So much!"

"Brian? What's wr...OH MY GOD! COURTNEY!" Tiffany screamed running over and taking Courtney out of my arms. Tiffany was sobbing by this point and Courtney was being hugged closely by her. I could feel the hot tears streaming down my face as I stroked Courtney's hair and looked up at Tiffany with a small smile on my face.

I then heard a little squeal of delight that sounded so familiar. Tiffany and I turned out heads and saw something I would have never expected. Leighanne was standing there with Brian in her arms looking at the both of us. My smile disappeared and I jumped up. I rushed over to her and took Brian out of her arms. I kissed Brian on the cheek and hugged him to me tight. Tiffany got up with Courtney her in arms and rushed over also. She put Courtney down and then bent down taking Brianna out of her car seat.

"Oh God, I can't believe this," Tiffany cried hugging Brianna closely. She kissed the top of her head and rocked her gently. Brianna just started to chew on the tip of Tiffany's T-shirt and giggle now and then.

"Brian let me see him," Tiffany said as tears streamed down her face. I gave her Brian as I got to hold Brianna. I couldn't believe this was happening. We have them back. This wasn't a dream, this was real!

A few minutes past and we put both the babies down and turned to Leighanne. She was still standing in the doorway looking up at us nervously. I then realized who she really was. She was the woman who pretty much ruined my life. She was the woman who almost killed two of my children and kidnapped three others in the process. All my hate and anger started to boil up and I was about to explode.

"Hi," she said quietly.

"HI!? HI!? IS THAT ALL YOU CAN SAY!?" I burst out angrily. She was taken aback and her eyes got wide with surprise. Tiffany was even shocked too.

"I..."

"Shut up! Do you know what you have done to us!? Do you have any idea at all!? You almost killed two of my children! Not only that but you kidnapped three of my babies!"

"Brian..." Tiffany began but I put my hand up to stop her and I stepped forward. Leighanne stepped back startled.

"YOU HAVE RUINED MY LIFE! DO YOU HEAR ME!?" I screamed with rage.

"Brian...please stop. She brought them back," Tiffany said putting her hand on my shoulder. I spun around and glared at her, "How can you be so calm? HOW!?"

"I'm calm because we have our children back, she brought them back," Tiffany said pointing to Leighanne. "Do you see Sara or Mandy anywhere? No, you don't do you? Leighanne did this out of the goodness of her heart, we should thank her, not yell at her."

"Not yell at her? How can we not Tiffany? She ruined our life!" I exclaimed.

"She might have did but she's trying to fix it," she said looking at me. Her eyes were pleading for me to not do anything drastic.

"I can't let her go that easily," I said through clenched teeth. I turned back around to Leighanne and then grabbed her hand pulling her into the house.

"Brian? What are you doing!?" Tiffany exclaimed.

"I'm calling the police," I said pushing Leighanne down and picking up the phone.

"DADDY! NO!!! DON'T DO IT!" Courtney screamed jumping up on me trying to reach the phone.

"Courtney I have to do this," I said.

"NO! Leighanne is nice! She's my best friend! She saved me and Brian and Brianna! She helped us get away from Sara and Mandy! Please don't get her in trouble!" she pleaded. I looked down at her and I saw that she was close to tears. I didn't know what to do. I wanted to call the police but Courtney and Tiffany objected to that. I didn't want to make them unhappy but letting Leighanne go so easily wasn't right but then again Tiffany was right. She did bring them back...and she has made us much more happier. I have no idea what to do. No idea at all.
