Chapter 14
Brian's View
"Oh my..." I said under my breath. Tiffany was laying there looking at me for a few moments and then she squinted and groaned.
"Tiffany! Oh baby, I can't believe you're awake!" I exclaimed getting up from my chair and wrapping her in hug.
"Brian, loosen your grip," she said weakly. I loosened my grip and looked into her eyes.
"I'm sorry honey," I said softly. Tears were about to overflow my eyes again but not sad tears, happy tears.
"It's OK," she smiled lightly. I then shot up and ran to the door.
"GET A DOCTOR IN HERE!" I yelled down the hall and then rushed back into the room and stood next to Tiffany. I took her hand and bent down and kissed her lips softly.
"What is it?" the doctor asked coming into the room and looking around curiously. His eyes fell on Tiffany and they widened in surprise.
"Well, hello Mrs. Littrell! It's nice to see you finally awake," he smiled warmly, picking up a clipboard and walking over to the other side of the bed. He did a few tests on her and then smiled.
"You're in good shape, I'm happy with what I see. You're going to be just fine Mrs. Littrell," he said. She smiled weakly and I said, "Thank you so much doctor."
"It's really no problem," he smiled. "Now get some rest, you seem pretty out of it."
Tiffany closed her eyes and nodded. The doctor smiled at me and then turned and left. I sat down and smiled widely at Tiffany, grabbing her hands in mine. She turned her head and opened her eyes slightly and smiled lightly at me.
"I'm so happy you're OK," I said.
"I'm happy too," she said softly. I got up and kissed her forehead and then sat back down.
"Get some sleep OK Sweetie?"
"All right," she smiled and then closed her eyes.
A Couple Hours Later
Jason's View
"Mommy is up?" I asked looking up at my Dad. He smiled and nodded his head.
"She woke up a little while ago, wanna go see her?" he asked.
"Yes!" I said happily and then jumped out of my chair running down the hall.
"Woah! Hold on there little buddy!" Brian laughed grabbing my arm and stopping me.
"What is it?" I asked, I was eager to go see my Mom.
"She's pretty weak so don't be too energetic, she tires out easily," he said.
"OK OK OK, let me go see her!" I said wiggling out of his grasp. He chuckled and let go of me. I ran into the room and stopped. She was laying on her back looking out the window. She turned her head when she heard me come in and smiled.
"Jason," she smiled.
"Mommy!" I exclaimed and then ran up to her wrapping my arms around her.
"I'm so happy you're awake, I was so scared," I cried into her shoulder. She wrapped her arms around me and kissed the top of my head.
"I'm here sweetie, I'm fine," she said quietly. I looked up at her with tear filled eyes and said, "At least you're fine."
"What does that mean honey?" she asked running her hands through my hair.
"Courtney and the babies and Michelle and Christian aren't fine," I said sadly. She looked at me oddly and asked, "What are you talking about?"
"Jason, buddy I think you need to go wait outside for a little while," Brian said putting his hand on my shoulder.
"No, what happened? I want him here. Brian what happened?" she looked up at my Dad with fear in her eyes. I looked up into my dad's face and saw his face drop and tears form in his eyes.
"Go sit in that seat over there," he said pointing to a chair on the other side of the bed. I nodded and sat down in the chair he told me too. My dad sat down in a chair and grabbed my mom's hand. She was looking at him fearfully and I knew what was gonna happen. Screaming and crying was coming and I didn't want to hear it. I have had enough of it but I just sat and listened as my dad began telling my Mom the whole story.
