(November 17th, 2000), Steve quickly packed a bag and headed for Nebraska! |

To fly on such short notice (without paying over a thousand bucks for a “last-minute” ticket!), Steve had to use his TWA pass – which means that he flew free, but had to fly “Standby.” Amazingly, he consistently managed to get the LAST SEAT on each plane (both in Houston and in St. Louis)!!! Such luck is almost unheard of. Normally, he gets “bumped” and has to wait for another flight!
So, miracle-upon-miracle, Steve arrived in Omaha that same afternoon – as swiftly as if he’d spent a fortune on his ticket. Unfortunately, his BAGS did not fare as well! They were “lost” somewhere along the trek TO Nebraska. (In fact, we worried that they wouldn’t show up until AFTER Steve had returned to Texas!)

Travis Turpin is ONE of Dad’s most treasured “Screamers” (Scarlet & Cream Singers = “Screamers”). He reminds me a lot of Steve. Travis visited Mom & Dad in December, 2000, while on a break between two National Touring Company shows. During his visit, considering how much he reminds me of Steve, and recalling the pix I took of Steve “modeling” Dad’s boxer shorts with Mom, I decided to make Travis assume similar poses in Dad’s boxer shorts!
At any rate: Steve declined Dad’s apparel and his bags showed up the next day.

immediately seized by another Flight of Ideas attack, and Pat and his buddy were handy!
