What Many of You May not Realize
Something quite a few of you don’t understand obviously, is that many webmasters (as hard as it is to believe) have lives. I realized not many of you knew this after I got about ten or so mails saying “pleeze ^date ur site loser!!!!1”. I started thinking about this and the only reason I could think of that some of you are doing this is the fact that you don’t know we have lives. Example: Ritick is having to take a small break because he has finals about a week from now. Example two: I have no idea what my parts are in a Christmas play because I’ve been taking time out from my life and other important things to update the site as much as I can. Plus, I just got braces and I am in quite a bit of pain (so if this comes off mean…I probly meant it at the time). Believe it or not Toji even has a reason he’s not updating very much (and an extremely good one at that) , unfortunately I really can’t tell you guys what it is…sorry. Back to the point, we try to do as much as we can for everyone out there who actually visits the site. But you guys have to understand that we don’t just crap this stuff out! It takes time effort and a lot of coffee to keep doing what we’re doing. We put all the effort we can into the site and still the majority of our mail is hate mail (but when you think about it this helps us update the mailbag).
You know when I started out working on the site I maybe got one mail welcoming me. Granted this is only a mildly popular website, but when you think about the mass amount of hate mail I seem to get, I wonder where you people were when I did something good. The point I’m making is that we do what we can, when we can, where we can (I’m doing this from my mother’s office, shame on me) , and when we do something great ( ex: a new section) and we take a little breather to get ready for the next addition we get insulted and told what to do and when to do it.
Look, it’s not that I don’t like “criticism” I just don’t like “death threats”. Mom needs some help with stuff so I’ll wrap this up. I speak for myself and whether others agree with me is up to them. So when I say something like this (which should go without saying) , I speak for myself and no one else, and if you have a problem with it mail away. Until then, I’ll leave you with something to think about. You can only do something you like for so long before it becomes redundant and more chore-like. So to keep updates frequent we could use more people like Neoguy and other people like that to give us either constructive criticism, compliments, or just a little friendly encouragement. It does one heck of a lot more than insults.
